  1. Good point! Do you think folks think say a 9 oz reel on a 7ft rod would be to heavy of a reel?
  2. Just curious what thoughts were on the weight of a reel. Do you feel its important/useful for a reel to be light in weight? Why or why not?
  3. Thanks for the input guys. I was kind of thinking so as I couldn't find any info in regards on the net.
  4. Hey does anyone on here now who builds Daiwa or Shimano reels? Im sure they outsource just curious if anyone knows who either uses as a manufacturer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Stradic Ci4+ Abu Veracity 6-8" ml spinning Denali Noirwood spinning Abu NEOS and just ordered the 2014 Daiwa Caldia 2506H
  6. Has anyone had the pleasure of using one of these beauties yet? Just wondered what folks thoughts were on them. I got one on a very sick deal and I can't wait to use it!
  7. Still one of my favorite rods! I have the 6"9 M XF spinning with a Lews Gold Spin on it that I use as my Senko slinger! You cant go wrong with these but I wouldn't mind checking out the big brother Ateos.
  8. I've never seen any nice reels on Rakuten. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot but I filter to all catagories and havent came up with much.
  9. Thanks for the input! I may end up wit a Certate myself. Might as well go big!
  10. Has anyone used a Daiwa Aegis yet? It looks pretty sweet and has good specs. Any thoughts? What in Daiwa’s spinning reel line up would this be equivalent to and how would you compare? Daiwa Aegis 2004 Mag Sealed Air Rotor Zaion Material Real Four Concept ABS II Spool Xross Wrap Twist Buster II Air Bail Ultimate Tournament Drag Digi Gear II Gear Ratio:4.8:1 One handle turn per 63cm Weight 190g Max Drag 2kg Ballbearings:7 Ballbearings & 1 Rollerbearing Line Capacity: Monofilament:4lb-100m
  11. Thanks for the tip Tim. I generally use 10 lb braid with a leader for this set up. I'll look into the 2508 size.
  12. I'm kinda leaning more towards the shallow spool idea anyways. I wont be doing a drop shot in anything more than 10 ft with it. Maybe sling a couple senkos in the shallows as well with it.
  13. Yeah I'm not looking to make that big of an investment. But the Vanquish sounds like a pretty sweet reel. Tossed up now too with maybe getting a Twinpower. They are lighter than I thought.
  14. I'd like to own a Certate for sure but for this set up and my rod I'd like to stick around 7 ozs.
  15. JDM Abu Garcia NEOS 2500 - for sale on ebay $285 brand new!
  16. The pic wont rotate for some reasone but here it is.
  17. I'm looking to purchase a new drop shot reel. I'm tossed up between the Shimano Exsence CI4+ 3000HGM or the Daiwa Luvias 2506H. I've never owned a higher end Daiwa but have a couple higher end Shimano's. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!!
  18. Me too! I'll do a review after the season after I give it a true go around. I've used the Premier however (this ones little brother) and have no complaints on that one. Thing is I only fish freshwater so I can't say how either will do in salt.
  19. Well I got the reel and it’s a beauty!!! Tons of detail. It’s sitting next to my CI+ and two compare the two the only advantage the CI4+ has is weight. The Shimano weighs almost 1 oz. less. The NEOS in my opinion looks more top shelf and feels more durable and is noticeably smoother. Both are sweet reels but I think I've fallen for my first Abu Garcia.
  20. Can I throw in the Abu Garcia Veracity in? Stiff with a soft tip and light. The handle allows you to feel the blank as well. I just purchased a shallow spool ENOS for my drop shot set up. This is my first shallow spool reel has anyone used one? Thoughts?
  21. I paid under $200 for it. I'll post a review once I get it on the water.
  22. I'm thinking about purchasing a Abu Garcia NEOS spinning reel. Has anyone here used one or seen any reviews on them. I'm having a hard time finding any reviews on them.
  23. For under $110 you can't fo wrong with the Lews Gold Spin. It's lighter than any mentioned (only .4 ozs heavier than the Ci4+) and probably has a better drag taboot!
