Best Finesse Spinning Reel Under 110$

Featured Replies

Whatever reel you want, the rod does most of the casting. Just pick one that has the line capacity you're looking for. Shimano pflueger and abu garcia will all get the job done.

pflueger president or supreme.  i own 2 of each and not one problem from either one in over 5 years of use.  great value..imo

Daiwa Aird is as good as any for well under that price

I really like the Shimano Symetre, I use one for my drop shot rod. I have a Pfluegar President that I used to use on that rod, like the Symetre much, much better than the president.

diawa lexa

I'm going to agree here. I have two Shimano Stradic 1000FI models (which I love), and a Daiwa Lexa 2000. The Lexa is a stout reel, works extremely well for its size and cost. Is it a Stradic? No. But it is a fantastic reel for the money. I also have several other Shimano reels sub $100 and love them, too.

You can't go wrong with either brand, IMO. Pflueger makes a fine reel as well, but when I was in the market, Shimano won me over all the rest. When the Lexa was introduced, I had to have one and haven't been disappointed. I've got a Lexa bait casting reel, as well.

Look at the Lexa, the Shimano Sahara, and Symetre (which is more to your price point). Both are excellent reels that can handle both fresh and salt water (if that's of any importance to you...is to me).

Pflueger. President or supreme.....if you can find a president XT that is the best IMO

I would go with a Shimano Saros....which you can find new at 110ish.

Id go with an older shimano saros 1000 with that budget.

Symetre

I'll bite and say Symetre. I have a 750FI that I really like. Maybe a little light but I use braid so it works out for me.

Shimano Symetre.

For under $110 you can't fo wrong with the Lews Gold Spin. It's lighter than any mentioned (only .4 ozs heavier than the Ci4+) and probably has a better drag taboot!

IMO any of the major brands should perform at about the same level.  If I were looking for a reel I'd be asking myself some questions to help me determine my purchase.

1. Do I like the way the reel looks

2. What weight am I looking for

3. How does it feel on my rod

4. Do I prefer a round knob or paddle

5. Is IPT and line capacity issues of concern.

6. Does aluminum, magnesium, composite or graphite matter.

7. Customer service, both manufacturer and vendor.

8. If possible see it in person.

There is most likely a reel in your price range that will fit these criteria.

Tons of good spinning reels between $50-$100. I like Abu, Pflueger and Shimano. I am kind of a cheap skate when it comes to spinning reels, $50-$70 is about all I like to pay. I have had good service from multiple reels in that price range. Shimano Sonora's and Sedona's, Abu Cardinal STX's and Abu Orra S's and, what many people think is the best value/bang for the buck in spinnng reels, the Pflueger President.

I will add a vote for Pflueger. I own the president and supreme and love them both. I don't think I'll ever get any other brand of spinning reel aside from the Pfluegs.
