Size comparison between Curado 70 and Chronarch Ci4?
Wow really? I'm kind of surprised by that. My Ci4 is by far my smallest reel (mostly PQs), I figured the 70 would be just a little smaller. Pictures would be great, thanks!

Size comparison between Curado 70 and Chronarch Ci4?
I haven't been able to get to the store to check out the Curado 70, can anyone with both of these reels compare the size? Thanks!

BPS Classic - dissapointing turnout
I was really disappointed this year. Last year the PQs were $50 and they had a big section of clearance rods, and this year the PQs were not on sale at all (never seen that) and no clearance rods at all. In fact the only rods I saw on sale was a section of walleye rods. I was looking for a rod trade in but ended up keeping my old rod. There seemed to be very little actually on sale this year compared to years past, and a lot of their sale prices are normal prices elsewhere. I usually drop a nice chunk of change there every year, but barely spent anything this year.

BPS Titanium 8
Yes, they are the same platform.

Senkos, Why Spend The Extra $ When Cheaper Out There
It may have the same fall rate with a weighted wacky head, but the weight concentrated in the center will put a larger bow in the worm as it falls. I have tried stikos, dingers, and my own home made ones. Senkos just seem to produce better. I now just switch between senkos and my own.
- Line Welder? Really?

Crankbait Vs Casting Rods
Generally, crankbait rods will have a more parabolic curve and more "give" so as to not rip the treble hooks out of the fish's mouth. These rods may also be made of fiberglass or a fiberglass composite. General casting rods will have the curve be higher on the rod.

Bps Hooks
I have one, the points are bent beyond repair, I've tried. When its honed, the bent part breaks off, leaving a point that is too thick to get sharp without a lot of honing. I don't have time for that in a tournament. It's much cheaper to just buy good gamas and not break them constantly.
-
Bps Hooks
I also bought a bulk pack of the BPS hooks and regret it. They are very sharp, but I keep bending the points on them and they rust too much. I'll stick with gamas from now on

Reel Manufacturers Who Use The Same Factories
Abu Garcia reels go to Spirit Lake too. It is not uncommon for companies to have the manufacturing in Asia and have the warranty / repair facilities handled state side, most likely because it isn't cost effective to ship single reels to china and back for repairs.

Finesse Casters?
How light weight are the plastics you will be using? If I were getting a finesse reel today, I'd get a chronarch 50e. I currently use a Pro Qualifier and a Medium Tourney Special rod, and I can throw weightless senkos and flukes really well on that setup.

If Bass Are Colorblind To Blue, Why Is There No High Vis Blue Line?
Well of course a company that sells UV lures is going to tell you how much bass love UV, that's the gimic they are trying to push. You guys missed what I was trying to convey about color. I'm not saying color doesn't matter, I was trying to say just because a color is successful doesn't mean the bass can see that specific color. Perhaps they actively didn't like the colors you were previously using, or perhaps they liked the grey that the blue lure looked like. Things with low success rates like fishing breed anecdotal based superstitions, its just human nature. I have no doubt that you guys have had great success with blue lures, I have myself as well. That doesn't negate that bass have limited blue vision.

If Bass Are Colorblind To Blue, Why Is There No High Vis Blue Line?
Where did you see that bass can see ultra violet? According to the book "Knowing Bass", which is base on data from Berkeley's research center, bass see reds and greens the best, don't see blues very well, and have a lot of trouble seeing anything in higher frequencies.I don't think a certain lure color working is any indication of the bass's ability to see it.

If Bass Are Colorblind To Blue, Why Is There No High Vis Blue Line?
I don't think OP means bass are color blind per say, but that they don't see blue very well, which is true. Even though blue light travels the furthest underwater, bass eyes can't detect blues and purples very well, due to their structure.

Flushing Bearings
I actually looked this up when cleaning my reels, and I was shocked to see how NOT bad for you acetone is, especially given how it smells. That isn't the case for the other solvents, but acetone is really pretty safe for what it is. Read the OSHA data on it. Obviously it is still very flammable, so be careful.

What Size Reel
Go 30. 35 is on the large size for Bass fishing. I have a 35 and my wife has a 30, wish I got the 30 size.

Braid, Why So Heavy?
Is there a reason not to throw the big line? Seems the fish will see the braid either way, I'd rather have the extra strength to prevent a break off when around heavy cover.

Spinning Reel Suggestions $100 - $150
I finally got to fish the Lexa I picked up this winter today, and it was very smooth. I'm very happy with that reel.

Worst Products You Have Ever Used
I haven't had a lot of issues with stuff because I research a lot before I buy. Only things I can think of off the top of my head are some spiderwire fluorocarbon I got on sale that was super stiff. Oh, the Dahlberg diving frog was pretty terrible as well.

Fluoro Or Mono
Straight fluoro for sensitivity, invisibility, and a faster sink rate.

Quantum... Why The Hate?
I think what makes the Tatula feel wider is that while most reels taper in at the line guide, the Tatula tapers outward. The Tatula is at the top of my list for reels I want to get, but I still thought it felt wider than what I'm used to when handling it in store.

6' 9"fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth Spinning Rod Question
Just measured mine at about 70" with the tape measurer resting on the reel stem.

Quantum... Why The Hate?
Seriously, KVD's name is everywhere. Its pretty clear he will put his name on anything for the right price. I take anything a paid spokesman says about the product he is paid to sell with a tiny, tiny grain of salt. Ike's not fishing cheap Abu rods because he loves them, this is how these guys make a living. Linder and Bill Dance also are sponsored by Quantum, so its obvious they have a large sponsorship budget (or blew it all on a few expensive names).I've never fished a Quantum anything, but they don't really have anything that catches my eye in my price range. I am intrigued by the Exo lineup, but they are out of my price range, and I've also seen a lot of negative reviews.
