  2. Well to add a new monkey wrench into the situation, I have a local guy trying to sell a used twice curado 200i along with a bunch of tackle for $140. Knowing it's not a metanium, but an overall workhorse and will very easily be more practical for this weekend warrior. But who can resist the allure of the latest and greatest... any users of the curado I please free to commention. I did get my orochi type r last week and WOW am I impressed!
  3. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I know I'll be satisfied with either but will have that feeling of what if...thinking I might go metanium but then eventually upgrading my steez to a sv spool. Why can't I ever just be satisfied with what I got?!
  4. I'm looking to unload a few of my combos and build an higher end all purpose setup. Being a bank beater and kayak fisherman I don't feel the need to keep so many setups, when at the most I can carry is 3. I have 2 awesome customs from DVT, one spinning and one paired with a Daiwa Steez ex100 which is an awesome reel my dilemma is I plan on picking up a Megabass orochi diablo spec r and am torn between 2 reels and was looking for some feedback from anyone who may have handled either. Looking at either the new Metanium hgl or Daiwa zillion tw sv. Never owned a shimano but obviously they have quite the following, really like the sound of the sv spool setup. Like I said general purpose setup for t-rigs, jigs, cranks here and there.
  5. Can't help with a location but I usually catch a lot using a trout magnet jig head with either a trout magnet or a 3" powerbait worm
  6. It's a toss up between that and the new steez tw1016sv, which would have to wait a for a few more weeks to save up. I never tried any shimano before but own an older steez(non sv spool)which is pretty f'in nice but I'm the type that always want to try other types. I just want to build an ultimate all purpose higher end setup and unload a few of my other setups. Probably going to pair with megabass orochi diablo type r.
  7. Anyone's thoughts on the metanium reel on sale?
  8. What's the name of the color in the top right? Looks likes perch but with a blue head, I need that in my life!
  9. Welcome, where abouts in the valley are you located? I'm in allentown and only have a kayak so it'd be nice to get out on a boat occasionally. I'd love to try and go for some stripers in the Delaware.
  10. I've been fishing the pack ever since I was a kid for mostly sunnys, large, and smallies but only ever fished from the shore and docks. Now that I have a feelfree lure I'm trying to find some some new spots to specifically catch my first striper and walleye. Our cabin is in walts landing which is the next cover over from the dam, which I heard is a good spot for stripers. Looking for any advice as I'm going up this weekend and am going to try and go up a lot more this year.
  11. Just spooled a reel up for the first time with 20lb looking to try my hand at larger swim baits.
  12. Been reading up on glide and swimbaits.........long story short I got a Megabass levante leviathan 7'11" and a Abu Garcia revo beast on the way. Now just need to figure out what size/type of line to use. Curse you winter blues! Picked up a kayak at the end of fall and only had it out twice with no luck, so COME ON SPRING!!!
  13. Got it! Thanks
  14. Stupid question but where exactly do you tie onto a bladed jig? Picked a few from seiberts but wasn't sure and couldn't find any pics.
  15. If you're in Easton try venturing over to the Delaware river.
