  1. One - for Pitching and smaller sized swimbaits.
  2. Avids are great rods for the money. The are light weight, durable, and come with a great warranty. They are, as RW stated, under rated compared to most rods, meaning the Avid medium is more like other brands MH, or real close to it.
  3. Jbsooner fan has it right, IMO. It comes down to knowledge and experience that makes you a better fisherman. The gear adds to the experience for some, others may care less. My mid range gear (Avids & Loomis IMX's) have not necessarily caught me any more fish, but my growing knowledge and experience have landed a few more than in the past. However, and I am sure this is just in my head, but my gear has made the experience even more enjoyable, and in truth, for me, it adds some confidence, wether real or just perceived, by having a rod with slightly better components than rods I have owned in the past.
  4. Again..St. Croix AVS69MLXF
  5. They were the rods I first started out Bass fishing with. Liked them a lot for their price point, and never had an issue with them.
  6. Apologize in advance if this question has been asked before. How long can you use fluorocarbon line? Can you "flip" the line like you can braid and get more use out of it? Gene J., in one of his videos mentioned he got bout 2-1/2 years out of it by using KVD line and lure conditioner. Am pondering purchasing some Tatsu and want to see how long of use I can get out of it to help justify the cost.
  7. They are amazing rods, I have several and plan on getting at least two to three more. But with that said, I do not pay full retail for them. If you shop around and are patient, you can find then for less. Ebay is a great place to keep your eye on and this forums flea market. Also, they seem to keep most of their value if you should decide to ever sell.
  8. High end gear does not make a "good fisherman". Knowledge, experience and determination makes a good fisherman. You gotta find the fish before you can catch them. High end gear, at least to me, just adds to my overall experience.
  9. My next rod on my list is the same 69mlxf. I am mainly getting it for fishing walleye, but I see it also doing some time on shakey head, tubes, and swimming grubs for bass.
