I do not want to hijack this post. If so please disregard. Several points have been brought up. Never used flouro, been using #12 copoly. I bought BPS flouro on sale this year. Is #17 BPS flouro to heavy for a baitcaster?

It is my understanding, that the reason you use hot water on the spool after spooling is to "reset" the memory of the line from filler spool to spool so the line does not "roll" off of it.

I am looking for a new spinning reel. Looking at the CarbonLite, Pro Qualifier, Abu Orra S, Pflgr President, & the Daiwa Legalis. Would like to stay in this price range. I have not had any in hand, but love my 2 Pflgr Supremes. Leaning towards the President, & the Legalis. Does anybody have any experiance, & suggestions with these reels, or others? Also, Concerned with dependability. Thanks in advance.
