  1. Thanks RR... I'm probably gonna give all those options a try
  2. I've got a tourney this weeked on a River in the NE part of NC... Not getting a chance to prefish and any advice that you might offer will help! Conditions: Water Temp: mid 50's to upper 50's Water Clarity: Murky (dark, but not muddy) Air temp: ~50-58 Supposed to be a clear, sunny day What do you think I should throw, and what types of locations would you concentrate on (has all types of structure)?
  3. Don't mean to be gettin' all technological, but a cell phone is alway a handy tool to keep around! It has saved me more than once!
  4. Finger-nail clippers have always worked fine for me
  5. I use 20# stren superbraid on my worm rod. I religiously keep my thumb on the braid to feel the slightest "tap". When I feel the fish, I reel down ... causing slack... and set the hook. This causes a whipping motion - that I find the most effective and have the most confidence in. Yesterday (and it has happened before), when I set the hook... I sliced my thumb. The braid cut right threw my thumb and though I would have to get stitches. :-/ Guess I'll start throwin' some duck tape round my thumb... should have done it earlier from past experiences. Just wonderin' if this has happened to anyone else??

You just about got it covered, but I couldn't totally count out using a crankbait... it works for me!
  7. Check this info out. It's a pretty good article on establishing a pattern by Kevin Fitzgerald. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/establishing_pattern.html Man, I love Bass Resource!! If you got a question, this site has the answer!
  8. I agree with nb1226, but sometimes patterns are awfully hard to determine. In many tournaments I find myself "junk fishing." Sometimes patterns are obvious, other times I can't seem to figure them out! :-/
  9. Another option is switching to a product by Gambler that I've heard good things about. The bullet weight is Florida style and has a rubber core that holds the sinker in position - advoids pegging. Just a thought, good luck!!
  10. What part of NC are you from??
