  1. lol thanks. ended up catching 6 of them all in this little creek.
  2. Was just messing around on the dock and it turned out well.
  3. Love me some pike fishing, actually opens up here this coming weekend, unfortunately they don't get too big so can even catch them on 8-10lb with a steel leader and go trolling with spinner baits, but even the smaller ones high like a truck and are pretty fun to catch.
  4. I politely ask them if they'd like a drink, and when they answer "sure" I push them in the water.
  5. Don't use it personally and there are so many frogs here, actually caught one on a weedless frog, crazy cannibals.
  6. Just caught 3 tonight and wasn't even fishing for them, was going for bullhead and then reeled in a 5lber.
  7. Congrats! Addicted yet? lol
  8. As long as they release them properly. There was a big tournament here the one year, the water was a lot warmer than usual which means lower oxygen levels and fish don't like drastic changes in temps especially if they're already stressed. I'm pretty sure they released them all in the shallows near the weigh-ins and needless to say, I counted around 50, really nice, big bass all floating around dead along the shoreline.
  9. I've had good experiences with this. I'd fish a deeper, narrow section before the bay opened up, it had a good current. Everything had to pass through that spot to get to the shallower water. It seemed like the bass were waiting in the weed line to ambush any bait that swam through the current, that's one of my favorite, most productive spots. There was a lot of pike there too doing the same thing.
  10. Some people just lack respect I guess, I smoke and even then I never flick them in the lake, I knock the cherry off and put it in my pocket and dispose of them at home.
  11. In the garage, but nothing near as pornographic as Goose there, phew that's awesome.
  12. Same thing, Easter bass and the ice just melted here in the last two weeks. Last thing I was expecting. Congrats!
  13. I've never done or seen that here. The last time I pulled up to a couple of shore fishers I was just giving them my extra minnows. Canada, we're friendly
  14. Ahh well I don't need a broken rod, I'll go with the Convergence and Pfluger 6930 then
  15. It's tricky. I think before tying anything on you need to factor in the weather, water temperatures and time of day.
  16. I can get the Convergence but don't see the other two in stock. $10 more is it that much better?
  17. Alright, I'll try that out instead. On that note, was just out on the mouth of a creek crappie fishing and caught a few, wonderful day.
  18. Kind of on a budget right now with a lot of renovations and stuff going on but was looking to grab a new rod and reel for a decent price and so far have come up with the following. Pfluger President 6935 Berkley Lightning Rod Shock 6'6 medium And spooling on some 30lb PowerPro I mostly like to fish in the slop but have another combo for open water that has worked well in the past. I haven't purchased much other than loads of lures in the past couple years so any advice would be appreciated. As for the fish here, I'm Southern Ontario so the bass don't get much bigger than 3-5lbs though I also want something for spring pike fishing. thanks
  19. Very nice, I'm jealous. Can't even fish bass here until June and I'm going stir crazy.
  20. lol that's hilarious. I've caught bull frogs with hula-poppers and weedless frogs, they're evil cannibals. Never caught a snake though.
  21. Thanks!
  22. Thank you! 8-9lbs? Jesus, I wish we had pigs like that here.
  23. Hello, I was looking for a few things recently on google and came across this site and found it to be quite a good resource so I figured I'd better join. I'm in Southern Ontario and primarily fish for large and small mouth bass but also enjoy pike fishing, and crappie.
  24. Motivation here is seasonal. I'm in Canada and you fish for what you can, when you can really. Early spring, crappie, later in spring pike, summer bass...Winter - hibernate. lol
  25. I love the mouse lures, watching fish eat rodents is somehow hilarious to me.
