Awesome! Can't beat a Lews!

Major League Fishing
Are you watching the most current one or some of the older ones? Iv'e watched every extended cast multiple times and I agree, 99% of the time those refs are pretty stone cold which I guess thats there job but still. There are a few times where they joke around though and get excited over a bigger fish.

Swim Jig Basics?
I fish mine different every time, burn it, slow, yo-yo, pausing, whatever the fish tell me that day. My hooksets are pretty much a sweeping hookset, maybe a little upward motion in there but as stated earlier they normally hook themselves.

2 Flipping Rods - Braid And Fluoro?
Yup, I've lost a many baits to them toothy critters! As far as the flippin sticks go I use one with braid for the real heavy cover and I use one with 20lb fluoro for lighter cover and clear water conditions.

Lew's Speed Spool Vs Lews Tournament
I own Speed Spools as well as the Tournament MGs. I do like the speed spool but with that being said I just ordered 3 of the tournaments. I'm always looking to get higher quality products, I imagine casting will be a bit better as well as overall smoothness. Can't go wrong with either of them though.

Kopper Live Target?
If you are talking about the frogs they are some of the higher end frogs. To each their own on buying them, I personally like different brands but I know others only use the Koppers. Just about testing them out and finding what you like.

Favorite Brand Of Baits
I try to stay very brand loyal. Soft Plastics - Big Bite Baits...Love the fighting frog, cane stick, cane thumper, and yomamma just to name a few. Hard Baits - StrikeKing...Love all their crankbaits. Jigs - Greenfish Tackle...Very high quality jigs and awesome colors! Frogs - Spro

How And Why Do You Decide What Tournaments To Fish?
I'm fairly new to tournament angling and bass fishing in general but I consider myself able of competing at pretty decent level. When I first started out it was for the experience and learning new stuff so I just fished smaller leagues or clubs. Now I'm stepping up to tournaments that travel all over my state and have divisionals, nationals, all the way up to the classic. I would truly like to fish at the Elite level so when I feel comfortable in my abilities and can afford it I move up to the next level. So I guess I pick my tournaments by level of competition and if I can afford them.

Your Very First Baitcaster Reel?
Abu Garcia Black Max and Silver Max...Both were junk and I never use Abu Garcia because of it, I'm sure there higher end stuff is better but left a bad impression with me.

Maxxum Question
If possible I would just check it out, cables, connections, overall condition of the trolling motor. The boat I bought last fall had an older maxxum on it and the circuit board went out on it in about 2 months of me owning it. If I remember it was about 200 dollars for the new circuit board which are the same they use in all the new ones now so I shouldn't have any more problems with that. Good Luck

Can't Wait For My New Reels!
Just orderd a new BB1, 3 Tournament Speed Spools, and 1 Tournament High Speed Spin Spinning Reel. They sure will look pretty on my brand new Powells!!
-
Favorite Square Bill?
I throw KVD Squarebills exclusively! They work perfect for me and they are designed by the cranking king, can't argue with that.

6-Cylinder Tow Vehicles
I tow my 18' Nitro with a 4.3 S10 and boy does she struggle! She struggles to get going and I won't push it past 55mph. Definitely get bigger if you can, I'll be upgrading this summer for sure!

Understanding Pitching Rods
When it comes to pitching you want a fast or extra fast tip and what that means is how fast your rod loads up and straightens back out. You'll notice an extra fast tip will load up in the first third of the rod where as a moderate or slow tip like will load all the way through the road or be parabolic, these are usually or cranking rods because they are more forgiving. Pretty sure there is really good video on this website about rods and their actions. My rod of choice and is a great all around rod would be a Powell Endurance 723. It's a 7'2" MH with an extra fast tip. I usually use mine for throwing a jig around 3/8oz so I can't speak for it on the heavier stuff but its an amazing rod for pitching, skipping jigs, some moderate cover.

How Do You Rig Your Jig Trailer?
I thread all my trailers all the way up the hook especially chunks cause I'm usually skipping them. I've never even thought of just barely hooking them before but I'll be givin it a try this year as I can see how it would flare a little bit better and give it a bit more action.

Line Conditioner?
I use the Ardent brand when I spool my Fluorocarbon on, helps for taking memory out of the line when it is brand new. Other than that I don't really use it, I'll spray my spools occasionally if I haven't used them in a while. I've found that if I spray a spool of line it gets really oily and it doesn't feel the same when casting. It has also dyed my line if fishing in stained water.

Powell Guys
Thanks for all the input guys! I like the feel of that 7'7" or 7'5" rod. Not to big on the 8 footers.
-
Lew's?
Yeah that is a one of the higher end Lews...I've used the standard Speed Spool, Tournament MG's and BB1s. I've loved every single one of them and Lews has excellent customer service! Wouldn't hesitate to buy that up.
-
Braid, Why So Heavy?
I use 80lb braid on my flipping and froggin rod. I've snapped 65lb just from a backlash so I like the extra strength and performance wise is pretty dang close. Lose a little casting distance.
-
Powell Guys
What rod do you guys like for deeper cranking in the Powells? Usually throwing 5 or 6XDs. I have quite a few Powells already but not a deep crankster, so what have you guys used and liked?

Check out classicbass.com...most tournaments are listed in there.

Powell Model For Drop Shot?
I'll second Powell, I run a Max Series 702, I use it for DS, shakey heads, or weightless senkos. Little light for heavier drop shots but ultra sensitive and very comfortable.
-
Shakey Head- Round Or Football?
Better bottom contact with a football style shakey head, feel much more and a better action in my experiences.

Which Powell
I love my 723...It's great all around around rod! I use mine mostly for docks though, skips a jig real nice!
