  1. I have a maxxum 80 and it has been on the boat since new. 2002. Other than the little pointing arrow breaking a few times, I have not had any issues. Knock on wood.
  2. I cut a huge hole in my boat this week. It will be worth it though. I got a homemade aluminum trolling motor tray and decided to install this week. I have a few pictures in my gallery if anyone wants to see them. If you plan on putting one in a 518/519 message me and I can give you some heads up!
  3. G didn't junk fish too well at Gville this year. I agree though. When it gets tough, just fish what looks good and throw the tacklebox at them.
  4. Mark Menendez was the one that was going through the causeway pipe. It was a BASS event.
  5. Tournament Sat and the water is up to 65-67 degrees and rising. What to throw and where to go. I just want to get on the water and see what I can come up with!
  6. I thought the same thing. They cost the same so get the Keitechs! They are killer on a Yum Flashmob Jr.
  7. Spinnerbait in the Yella Flyers, yellow flowers. I haven't been down this year but I have done well with a spinnerbait over the years. Good Luck
  8. All of them on an Arig lol. The senko style bait would be my pick if I had to choose. You can fish it several ways. texas rigged, Carolina rigged, weightless, wacky and even as a jig trailer.
  9. I look at water temp and time of year first. I have a tourny on a lake I havent been to in awhile sat. I know the water is around 60 degrees and the bass should be looking to spawn. I will go to some transition banks and work my way shallow. I will start off with spinnerbaits and square bills. Just cover alot of water and see if they are shallow. Hope so. If not I will back out to the secondary points and maybe throw a DT 6, jerkbait and even a bottom bait like a jig or texas rig. If that all fails, I will be done with my day anyway and will head back with my tail between my legs. Thats just how I look at it anyway. So I look for spots and try to find a pattern in them i guess. Hech I don't know, I just want to go fishing!
  10. I drive by one of the Largest Bass Pro Shops in the country everyday. The Monkey calls me in with his sweet sweet music... I m u s t g o n o w...................
  11. Awesome.
  12. I don't remeber who told me this, but as a youngster I was told if a bass follows and doesn't bite, change color. I don't know just something that stuck in my memeory banks.
  13. I just did this very thing. The BPS in my area sold out of a color, so I bought the SK skirt seperate. Worked like a charm. Now I have a few extra skirts for spinnerbaits too.
  14. I really like my Revo SX and STX. I haven't tried a tatula.
  15. KVD 1.5 They offer way too many colors tho... I down sized my color selections to shad, red and yellow. I have been buying some custom painted ones for spring though. I have tons of crawdads in my livewell that have the same color on them. I had them in Alabama, Indiana and Kentucky this year already. Green pumpkin with an orange bottom/craws. I am going to try to get a airbrush and do it myself soon.
  16. Old salty craw from Gene Larew has taken alot of my money over the past 15 years. We have a guy that will throw it at all times. He doesn't win every tourny, but he wins enough to buy more salty craws!
  17. Hard to beat Maui Jims and Costas. If you take care of them they will last as long or longer than 5-6 pairs of the others. Just like reels, boats and women- you get what you pay for lol
  18. send a pic to a custom painter.. With the rods and reels you have the price shouldn't be an issue lol I love those Bandit 300 and the 200 baits. Seem to run good and not bad on the cost.
  19. Ok, new guy here and also new to jerkbaits. I have neglected the jerkbait for years. Got my butt handed to me in spring tournys alot. Well this year I decided to learn it. Got extremely lucky and started this journey at Guntersville lake. Started to throw a Lucky Strike Rick Clunn model in a clear bay with boat houses. Immediatly caught fish with a 5 mississippi count between pauses. That was the start of a wonderful relationship. I found a stretch of bank that had some depth, say 10'. Worked the bait with the 5 second pause and had best five of 23lbs. Took that new found confidence home with me. Caught 50+ bass at Barren River lake KY with 4 1/2 the biggest. Took it to Patoka Lake in IN at my first tournament and got second, had two five pounders that day. Then to a small lake in western KY on spring break. Had a 6lber and 7 other keepers over 15" with numerous short fish. I don't know when this ride will end, but I will keep throwing it til it stops. I used the clear with blue back in clear water. The blue/purple back with chartruse sides in dingy water. Guys this is the real deal when you get confidence in it. My question is this ride going to end when the water temp gets to a certain spot like 70+???
  20. I have the tray and am getting ready to instal. Before i cut I am asking around to see if anyone has done this boat before....
  21. KVD says upper 40s degree in article lol
  22. KVD has a blog on Bassmaster.com. He says its more about the length of day and moon phase. Temp isn't as big of a factor. If you click on his blogs it will show up on the right side. I think he is pretty smart?! The article is "It's not all about temp"
  23. We have guys that throw bananas in everyones boat in the morning. Sand baggers of coarse. We always put the net in the floor and say keep it down. I don't know why. Bass decoying? We have a guy that will throw an 18" bass up say he wants it checked on the 15" board. Another decoying of sorts is the infamous black weigh in bags.
  24. Always wanting to learn more about bass fishing. I am a memeber on several forums. I fish a small club, The Charlestown Bass Anglers. We fish one tourny a month til Oct. We fish Patoka Lake, Monroe Res, Nolin lake KY, Barren River KY and the Ohio River mostly. I have a 2002 518 Ranger with a 200 Yamaha. Love to Bling it out. I have 20" rims and wrapped windshields and motor cover. I have lots of mods I want to do and these forums usually help with those. Hope to interact with alot of the good guys on this forum.
