I second the havoc pit boss. It's a meaty bait so use a big hook. Trigged with 4 or 5/0.

anyone use these? likes or dislikes? was going to get some on clearance but went with havoc pit boss instead

How do you fish these?

Is it me or does this line have a lot of memory? I got 12lb

Can i ask ,what is the point of having braid with a leader? or better yet fluro with braid backing? what is braid backing and why do so many people suggest it

i just took my first baitcaster out today. its a lews speed spool. i love it. i got the quantum nitrous spinning reel also, and it is night and day fishing styles of course. when i got my first birdsnest today, all i did was laugh. by the end of the day i was throwing it with no birdsnest. i cant really whip it yet and im not that accurate yet. but i know it all comes with time. but im so excited about the no birdsnest part, lol.

thanks everyone with the help. i settled in on the bps johnny morris 7' MHF carbonlite. i cant wait to learn this rod! i really wanted the *** ***, but maybe itll be my next one

anybody own one? good rods ...bad?

today i went to Dicks sporting goods to buy yo zuri hybrid 12#. it will be going on my first baitcaster ever (lews speed spool) and i planned on learning with it because i hear its quality and i honestly dont think it will take me a long time to pick up on baitcasting especially with the spool tape trick to stop extensive backlashes. but i found out that they dont carry it. I didnt know what else to get. i went to pick up suffix siege but i have read some stuff about it snapping. so i put it back. should i just go to basspro and get yo zuri? what else should i look at?

Is one company's mhf the same as the next? Are there any brands off the top of your head?

im still learning these things, but to me the rod is not that sensitive, i think my wifes zebco rod is more sensitive then mine. it seems like i need a rod with more flex for more sensitivity and longer casts. the gx2 seems to only bend/flex in the top 30 percent of the rod.

Lews speed spool 6-4-1 and ugly stik gx2 6'6.

i just bought a lews speed spool as my first baistcaster. its the 100$ one not the laser mg. it will be going on an ugly stik gx2 6.6 medium rod. does anybody have any tips for this particular reel? which line to put on it?
