Yeah I am actually using no additional weights just hooks and the rig. I feel this would give a better casting set up and may help with presentation as well to lighten it up a bit.
I got an Alabama rig and used it last Sunday and got it hung up but I was able to pull it out and bend the hook. So this week I removed the jig head that was 3/16 oz. Times five it almost an ounce plus five beefy soft swimmers. This week I am using offset 2/0 hooks and Texas rigging through the top and out the bottom slit.
What are your thoughts about this set up?
What have you all done to change the set up to suit your needs or what you think is an improvement you made?
Thanks guys. Since im from out of town i would need to spend 20 bucks for the licsence 3day only, and at stewart i would also need to buy a day permit. But if could catch a 7 lb.+ that would be worth it.
Isnt the savannah river to brackish that close to the atlantic?
Can i catch the reds in june on lures from tybee?
I will be in Savannah/tybee area In June and i am looking for somewhere to fish for bass in or close to Savannah besides lake mayer. I have been here but it seems way over fished. Where a place like this should be plentiful of bass but has not produced the southern bass im looking for as i am coming from a place that 3-4lbs. Bass isnt too shabby. Thanks is advance guys.
My name is Canine (Neal) and i am from Hanover PA area. i have been fishing since i can remember probaly since i was about 8 years old so it has been about 22 years and counting! My father was a natural fisherman, and my grandfather was an advid fisherman particularlly Fly fishing and bass fishing. i am always learning about bass fishing an always looking for more information! I just got my first baitcaster and i wish i could i say i love it! lol but that's another topic for another portion of the forum! looking forward to learning and giving whatever advice i can give as well. I fish strictly from the bank (not by choice trying to save up for a house) so my techniques have to be on point! Thanks all! Have a great day.
