Savannah Ga. For Bass

Featured Replies

I will be in Savannah/tybee area In June and i am looking for somewhere to fish for bass in or close to Savannah besides lake mayer. I have been here but it seems way over fished. Where a place like this should be plentiful of bass but has not produced the southern bass im looking for as i am coming from a place that 3-4lbs. Bass isnt too shabby. Thanks is advance guys.

Have you ever fished on fort stewart. There are some pretty nice fish that come out of stewart.

The Savannah River is (or was) pretty decent as well.

Treat yourself and go after redfish while you're in a Savannah. You can use your bass tackle and give it a proper workout :)

Thanks guys. Since im from out of town i would need to spend 20 bucks for the licsence 3day only, and at stewart i would also need to buy a day permit. But if could catch a 7 lb.+ that would be worth it.

Isnt the savannah river to brackish that close to the atlantic?

Can i catch the reds in june on lures from tybee?

I don't remember where we put in to the river (maybe just over in to SC?) but it wasn't too brackish. Caught a few and lost a toad about a hundred yards from the ramp. Watch out for gators. :tongue8:

Yes - reds are there all year, and you can probably find them tailing in the really skinny water
