Anything that works during the day can work at night, I like anything black!

Flip Fish
I think I get what your asking, if its a bass that's not to big I'll just hop him in the boat with my rod If it can handle it, obviously you can't do this on a whippy fairy wand.

Misconceptions About Catching Big Bass!!
You obviously haven't read this thread well. He has already stated multiple times that he is not trying to say location isn't important, he is trying to say that location isn't the ONLY important thing and that many other key factors like lure selection and time of day can play a huge part in catching big bass.

Misconceptions About Catching Big Bass!!
Thanks that's really helpful info WRB! I've also tried finding a topo map with no success, anytime I try to contact someone that maintains the lake about something they give me the run around.... I'm sure those hard gills work great but there are a lot more things I'd rather spend 70$ on right now, like a heavy rod....

Need Help On Lure Selection
Mojo/split-shot rigs work good and stay above grass too, I need to start using the mojo rig more around here...

Awesome Spear Fishing
This is a awesome video! Most of the shots are perfectly aimed and instant kills, very cool.

Need Help On Lure Selection
Boat or bank fishing? If it's from a boat you could try more vertical presentations like throwing soft plastics or jigs into holes in the grass, or break out the punching gear. Frogs and buzz baits are also great lures for heavy weeds, try using a soft plastic like a rage craw, zoom speed craw, or space monkey (something that creates a good disturbance on the water) and fish it weightless like a buzzbait works great around here.

Arrival At Water
When someone says that they aren't neccesarily saying the bass won't bite, but it is almost always true that a bass sees you before you see the bass. It helps to take that into consideration when sight fishing bass.

Arrival At Water
I once was casting from the bank at our little pond and look down and I'm literally standing over a bass that's maybe a foot from the bank. I put my rod tip over him and dropped my weightless speedcraw on his head and he bit it plain as day but I didn't get a good hookup. There is no way he didn't know I was standing there he would have felt me moving around or saw me.

Abu Garcia Veritas Vs. H2O Express Ethos
Yeah I have heard quite a few people say that they have broke Ethos setting the hook or boat flipping a bass and that kinda put me off...

Misconceptions About Catching Big Bass!!
Do you guys think big bass can coexist with other top predetors? Like areas on the lake that have a good population of pickerel or gar, could these areas still produce big bass or would you not waste your time and find an area where the bass are more dominate and fish it. There are places on the lake I fish that seem perfect for big bass in my eyes but they have good populations of pickerel, small gar, and bowfin.

Wacky Rigs ?
I've never cared for the wacky rig... I'd rather fish the Texas rig over wacky in almost any circumstance. But I can skip a wacky rigged stick bait a pretty good ways even though I suck at skipping lures.

Abu Garcia Veritas Vs. H2O Express Ethos
Hey guys, I need a Heavy rod in the 7-8ft range and was wondering which of these you like more, The Ethos is 60$ and the veritas is 80$ but ill cough up the little bit extra for the veritas if it'll be worth it. I'll be using it for Jigs, Frogs, Big worms, and Heavy Texas rigs. They both seemed like quality rods for the money when I held them at the store but Id like yalls input.

Misconceptions About Catching Big Bass!!

What Lure Do You Rig Your Significant Other Up With?
A soft plastic of some sort, a small spinnerbait, inline spinners etc... Something light where they can cast it on a spinning setup with ease and not get tired, also a bait that has room for error. My last gf really liked using the little booyah pond magic spinnerbaits, http://www.booyahbaits.com/booyah-pond-magic

Fishing Off The Front Of The Boat
My trolling motor skills are so bad I usually just find a spot anchor and fish, when Ive fished that area I'll go to the next... I stand up when I fish and its hard to control the trolling motor and stand in the Jon boat, at least for me... On the bigger boat I fish from occasionally its much easier...
