I usually just stay home the day after a big tournament in the lake I fish.

You could just use the line that's already on there as backing, just take enough off and connect to the braid

I'm usually running them pretty fast about 2 feet deep with jerks and rips here and there.

If bass taste like weeds I'm seriously considering frying weeds because they taste pretty darn good.

They are very fun to catch and pretty easy to catch IMO they fight decent, but they crap all over your boat if you have one jump in! I was fight one and it jumped in the boat and hit my dad in the head haha

Have any of y'all used the version of this bait made by big bite baits that is stupid cheap? I bought a few bags of them because they were 69¢ but I can't catch anything with them alone. I caught one fish using it as a trailer but that's it.... I'm not 100% sure on the name, it might be called the bass special or something

That just looks like a smallie? Can anyone explain the difference, I barely fish for smallies its usually an accident when I catch em.

Sometimes a slight change in color can stop short strikes, maybe try dyeing the claws/tails of your bait a bright color to give them something to aim at, usually works for me. But if its cover ripping it off Idk if there is much you can do except fish somewhere else lol

Yeah I fish jerkbaits on rods that are "crankbait rods". You can get away with a faster tip like someone else mentioned from my experience too.

For squarebills most of the time Im just reeling and letting the cover do all the work with a few jerks and pops here and there.

Yeah usually you can catch em with cranks no problem but I've been unlucky lately and the big ones have been jacking my KVD's :/

For brand I use the megastrike shakE 2 pro like someone else mentioned, I normally find myself using 1/4 but I'm usually fishing around grass in 5-8 FOW

Yeah...... I bought probably 25 squarebills a month or 2 ago and I've lost most of them I have the 4 I use the most left and then I'm out... I need more but don't have the $$

Of course you don't HAVE to, but I have heard of people doing it, never tried it myself

What lure do you think you've spent the most money on in your life time. For me its the good ole rage craw, thats the only bait I find myself going to the store and coming out with 5-10 packs haha I bet some of the answers will be swimbaits, I'm thinking about getting into them but the prices on some make my head spin....

for craws I like those black lead weights you can get that have the red and white dots on the side that kinda look like eyeballs, I dunno if it makes a difference.

The lake I fish is 6-8 feet through the whole place so there isn't any deep water for them to run to. When the summer comes the bass usually start to bury themselves in grass....

I used to think I needed to fill my spool up that much on a spinning reel because on casting I fill it all the way up. I had many problems and hated spinning gear until I learned the correct way to spool spinning reels and all my problems went away!

I'd say a baitcasting combo.... A 6.4 casting reel on a MH fast action rod is pretty versatile. But you can't go wrong with spinning or casting, it comes down with what you want and how you want to fish em.

Thanks guys maybe I won't paint them, I bought a boatload of new lead weights and their all shiny because my academy only carrys shiny ones, only black weights they had were tungsten and my wallet doesnt like tungsten compared to a 1.50$ pack of lead weights lol
