I use braid for everything when bass fishing and tie leaders when needed now. Very rarely when I do happen to fish rocks I don't like braid....

Around here when a person catches a jack sometimes I've seen them pull up to tree and beat it to death, slit its stomach open, cut its head off, stomp on them, etc... Its makes me so mad because most of those people are the guys who go fishing once every couple of weeks and don't know anything about pickerel. They think like this, "I like to catch bass, they eat bass, we should kill them". The pickerel in my lake are so healthy and its just sad to see people kill them for stupid reasons Same goes with gar too.

Hey guys I'm curious about what the size of your average jack is in your area... Around here in south georiga they are on the bigger side the average one I catch out if my local lake is probably 2-3 lbs but I have caught bigger and seen people catch much bigger... I believe the record was caught not to far away in homerville and it was like 9lb something ounces... I love targeting them but I've heard in other places chain pickerel can be small and a annoying little fish...

If you hook a bass past the barb and correctly fight it then it still throws the hook then you just weren't meant to catch that bass lol

Yes, dropoffs from shallow to deep can hold good bits of fish.

I use 20# power pro super slick for my squarebills but I almost never fish rocky areas...

You can control the depth it runs by using heavier/lighter line. The lighter the line the deeper it goes to an extent
