I fish spinnerbaits without a trailer more than with, I always have a trailer on my jigs.

I've done good with them weightless, perfect action!

I use the modified Albright knot.

Well I'm actually quite proud of myself because I applied all the information you guys gave me in those big bass threads on that day and it paided off. WRB mentioned fishing around depth changes in the trees so I found a spot with lots of big bass forage like bream and such and it had good depth changes an plenty of cover, so I got out the jig and started moving tree to tree fishing the jig slow. I was throwing the jig out and letting it sink, id let it sit on the bottom motionless then shake it alittle in case a bass followed it on the fall. If a bass didn't get it at that point id start hoping and dragging it really slow back to the boat then rinse and repeat.

Hooking a fish in the tongue is worrisome, but not an automatic death sentence. Atleast from my experience...

I just broke 5lbs for the first time.... I fish a tough lake that alot of people have a hard time catching any bass out of so I feel its a great accomplishment for me, there is one guy that catches big bass there consistently but he has been fishing that lake for years and years and years

Well I'm not done trying to catch big bass! I'm just done trying to solely target the biggest bass in a body of water, I'm gonna go back to targeting that balance between size and numbers...

Well with light cranking on 20lb braid it doesn't dig in much because your drag is set light, but it does still dig in alttile.

I'll use 20lb PP when cranking

Well guys I've been trying to catch a big bass and I finally did it! Went out today and threw a 12" worm for a hour or so with no success so I switched to a 1/2oz black and blue structure jig with a Big bite baits craw trailer and caught her!! Thanks guys! Bassresource has made me such a better angler and I couldn't have done it without yall... The more I tried targeting big bass the more I realized it wasn't for me... So this ends my big bass quest. Its tough, going hours without a bite waiting for that one good one is hard on your mind. An old rusty scale we had said 5lbs for what its worth, that's a PB for me, I finally broke 5!!!
