  1. When Im using crankbaits I set the hook on anything that stops the vibrations of the cranks. But I also fish from a boat so retrieving lures is easier
  2. I use 7.3 for most everything. I like a little slower for crank baits, like a 6.5
  3. Berkley cherrywood, Its 20 or so dollars and is a good rod. I use one for my lipless cranks and shallow square bills because it is a M/F. just be careful not to buy the MH/F if your gonna be cranking.
  4. *2, I love giving it a sharp upward jerk and letting it fall! I need to buy some more red eye shads.. I'm all out
  5. How do you like the Jerry Rago rat if you used it? from the pictures ive seen they are pretty large but they look cool!
  6. I live in south Georgia and I still notice hard baits get killer when it starts cooling off, square bills and Lipless all day long!
  7. I like the strike king swim jigs, white and black
  8. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/144161-what-do-you-do-when-you-snag-a-good-piece-of-cover/
  9. Yeah tonight's game just started let's go steelers!!
  10. Those are some "good" pictures, or bad, depends on how you look at it....
  11. I've got some jitterbugs, hula poppers and creek chubs that are 30 or more years old. Also have some old cranks and original Rat-L traps.
  12. I agree with you roger, but sometimes we over-think things as in we overlook the basics...
  13. Wow those are some pigs! Good job
  14. 50lb braid for a lot of my top water stuff here because I fish around the thick junk but I'll go to 30lb when I'm away from the slop.
  15. I use new rod and reels, but you can never lose faith in the old lures like the Zara spook, Rat-L trap, jitterbug, hula popper, etc...
  16. Idk who is sponsored by rage tail but I buy their products a lot, I buy KVD cranks too but not because they slapped KVD's face on the box.
  17. Nice pics! Looks like your having a good year so far!
  18. I'm dying ahhaha^
  19. I like white and chartreuse spinnerbaits. Someone else should handle the how to fish them part haha
  20. I over think things way to much as well...
  21. One problem I have in the pond that I fish for bowfin is that a bowfin bite and a warmouth bite feel similar sometimes (kinda like a tap, tap, tap like they are chomping on it...) , you can throw anything out there and a warmouth will bite it and if you set the hook like you would on a bowfin you have a warmouth flying out of the water or your rod gets tangled from trying to set the hook on nothing... The warmouth are the perfect baitfish for big bowfin though, the pond produces some big ole warmouth too!
  22. Well in our pond (smaller than five acres) it used to be really easy to catch good bass out of it but now you can throw everything and they wont bite. I guess after catching all of the bass five times a piece they learned a thing or two, now you really have to be precise and methodical when trying to catch them..
