Catch and Grease

Well there are swamp/ponds around here with tons of Huge ones and there are places in the back of the lake I fish that get really swampy where you can catch them too. That's where I go to target them, they are hard to hook, you gotta go with ethier a light-wire hook setup or 50lb braid and a super line hook. No in between or you won't hook em! Like this one I lost, I set the hook like a champion and he still came un-buttoned ....

If I had boatloads of money I would have boatloads of lures. But I'm not rich so I only have enough tackle to fill up a tackle box I got from academy.

I go by line diameter too but the line ratings on rods aren't too important in my opinion.

I was fishing lipless cranks on along a weed line while a few other boats were a good ways away fishing the edges of trees. I guess they noticed me catching bass so they all crowded around me and started throwing the same lures... They didn't bother to just go farther down the weed line they had to get right up on top of me. I just shook my head and went to the other side of the lake, not worth getting upset over

I make mine on the shorter side in case I decide to ditch the leader, so I don't waste a lot of leader line.

I love the people you meet fishing, Yes there are many jerks that fish but most of the people you encounter are enjoyable to be around and great to have a conversation with.
