  1. I have no experience at all with a big boat. I have had a bass hunter with electrics. A friend told me I should consider a Bass Tracker.
  2. I know this might have been asked a zillion times but... I want to hear from those with boat experience. What would you all recommend for a first boat? Make/model/motor/add-ons/trailer,etc. I am thinking about something under 20K. Thanks so much for your time and answers.
  3. I have a Penn spinning reel. I filled the spool with line and when I reel in the line turns on the spool and I can't reel any line it...just keeps spinning. I am thinking that maybe I should use a different knot. If you are familiar with Penn spools are very slick with no ridges as with other spools. Anybody have an idea for me? I love the look and they cast a mile. Thanks!
  4. I have one of the X models and have never been able to see the 'hooks' that they show in the booklet that comes with it. In the track fish mode...I get the fish outlines...big/small but out of that, I don't get the hooks. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  5. Hey Ben. It is a 12v only and I was running on full alot that day. I am connecting directly to the battery from the TM with eyelets to the screw terminals with wingnuts. The connections were good. The terminals are clean. No circuit breakers...are they necessary? I will check to see if the eyelets are well crimped. So with the DVM, I hook up the motor as usual and set one test lead on the pos post and then a piece of the connecting wire above the eyelet connector somewhere? If I get a reading, I have a bad eyelet connection? THANKS!
  6. I connect directly to the battery. Could there be a short on the trolling motor somewhere?
  7. Hey all. I have a 55 thrust Minnkota and today the battery terminals got fire hot. Any clues as to why that happened? It never happened with my 4o thrust. All are 12 volt. Thaks for any thoughts sent my way.
  8. Thanks for all the help. I am fishing in Fayetteville and at Horton. GREAT lake! I now have a depth/fish finder and that should help with the shallow doldrums...I hope!
  9. I was probably a little vague but you helped. Thanks!
  10. I have a 10ft bass hunter boat and a Lowrance X51. I want to mount the transducer to the trolling motor. Any ideas? I think I can use the pre-wire connection in the front to get power to the X51. I run the trolling motors with direct connects to the batteries so the pre-wire is available. If anybody has some comments, I would appreciate any help. Thanks!
  11. It's in the 90's here recently and the fish bites have slowed down alot. Three weeks ago I could toss a Senko out and get a bite every other cast. Now...it seems the bass have taken a vacation. Any ideas for what might be taking place and what can I do? New to bass fishing but had all kinds of luck (including a 10#) until recently. Thanks!
  12. Hey folks! I am thinking of getting a bass hunter or uncle buck 10' boat and wonder if any of you have one and how you get it in and out of the water if you go fishing by yourself? I have a tundra so getting to the lake isn't an issue. Also I would want trolling motors bow and stern and do I need 2 batteries for all day fishing or will 1 work and do you keep the second battery up front? Thanks!
