I apologize for the "noobish" question but are there crawfish in New York? Can I catch a bass on a crawfish type soft bait, or crawfish colored crank bait?

Any productive waters around the Patchogue area? I fish the west bank of Great Patchogue & the southern part of Canaan Lake from the bridge (if anyone knows the area). I've caught a few fish in both spots, but fishing the same spot over and over gets a bit boring with time. The polluted water isn't nice to see in Canaan either, have tried multiple times to clean my favorite area up, but it seems to get worse and worse every time I make an attempt.

Hey guys! I'm Wayne. I love to fish largemouth, I don't catch fish but getting out to the water is my getaway. I live on Long Island, and fishing is quite rough here. Fresh water that is.
