  5. cull???? i've not had that problem this year. I've caught 10 fish since june lol
  6. Growing up I fished all the time with my Dad and Grandad. Then life happened, I moved off between lil of this and that and starting a business the free time to fish was well, gone. Sadly last year my grandad passed, and I was given the opportunity to buy his boat, so I did. That being said, I'm back into fishing . Now I have no idea what i'm doing, and i'm not catching any fish, but getting the boat back into tip top shape was fun, and it's running great now. I'm just trying to figure out patterns, structure, etc etc. But it's great. and I love fishing out of his lil TX17.
  7. it's HOT round here. I do have a FF. Lowrance Elite 5 HDi, it's pretty slick. I try to fish transitions, structure, etc. I'm thinking these lakes are just over fished. oh well, i'll keep on poking around.
  8. Fished for about 5 hours yesterday. Jigs, Deep Cranks, Worms, spinners, Ratl-Traps and.................nothin. this is the 4th or 5th skunk at this lake. I had to quit before prime time (7-dark) cause the weekenders hit the lake, and there were 15 boats running laps around the lake and i was dancing all over the place. I fished the deep spots by the dam for a couple hours, then went and hit a couple of the "coves" to no avail.
  9. Hey Guys, So i've had a boat for 2 months now, and i've been fishing atleast once a week but try to go 2-3 times. I usually have to fish in the evenings, when I go out, it's from 3-dark (730-8ish). I've tried spinners, cranks, senkos, trick worms, top water, etc etc etc, and well, i'm striking out. I haven't caught but 10 or so fish in all of my outings. I'm going to start just hitting one lake at a time til I can learn it, but i'm not 100% sure what i'm looking for. Here's my latest lake, who what when where would you guys fish and why? A lot of the shallow coves have lilly pads, and i've got a couple hits using a live target frog, but i've failed to hook up. no bites on worms or anything else. I'm probly gonna hit the water around 3-4CST today, so ya'll help me out http://www.mdwfp.com/media/35560/geiger_lake.pdf Thanks for your help, Kyle
  10. I'm in the same "boat" so to say..... Just got a boat 2 months ago, i've gone 1-2 times a week since then and have caught at most 10 fish. We have a bunch of 50-75 acre lakes around here, and one or two 100-300 acre lakes. While it is discouraging.... it's still better than workin I've started telling my wife i'm going to float around in the boat instead of fish
  11. very few. 8-10 trips probly 10 fish. morale is low in south ms
  12. i've been skunked a few times this year. but i've just started back this year after a 15 year hiatus. An i've also just started solo boat fishing, so i'm learning a bit. MUCH BETTER THAN WORKING !
