  3. Stanley ribbet frog for sure color doesn't seem to matter! hook it on a 5/0 ewg hook and wait for the explosion!
  4. whats your favorite spinner baits to fish with?
  5. do you guys have any swim jig tips and techniques? also what is your favorite brand for swim jigs? thanks for the replys!
  6. thanks for the info
  7. sounds like the big gills are active i went out this weekend and caught about 20 gills with a friend in about 45 mins all keepers but not as big as the weekend before>
  8. just wondering how people have been doing on gills. here in Michigan they finally moved shallow but they are not on the beds yet. me and my dad caught about 75 keepers one last weekend.
  9. anyone have any info on walleye fishing gun lake i am going next week for a week once school is finally out. i need to know where to catch em and how. thanks.
  10. anyone know anything about the stoeger condor or uplander i am considering purchasing one of the two.
  11. thanks everyone for the info.
  12. i love jig fishing and fishing deep but the two don't seem to mix well for me. I fish Michigan's natural lakes and very few of them have a hard bottom which makes if hard to keep bottom contact. if i work the lure along the bottom it hangs up in the mud. I'm wondering if i should not fish this technique or if i should ignore the hangups and tough it out.
  13. in my opinion a 3/0 ewg hook is a all around good hook for most soft plastics.
  14. if the wind is calm and there is good cloud cover top water works all day. also when fishing frogs in the pads the time of day doesn't seem to matter.
  15. a bad day out fishing is better than a good day at home.
  16. i know when a fish is on my bait when the line is being slowly pulled away and the slack line is picked up. if you feel a series of rapid ticks it is usually a bluegill.
  17. i catch the most fish by myself in a kayak! weird but that's when i fish the best.
  18. i would definitely say something, maybe just mention that its not legal and it is hurting the fishing. i don't really keep game fish, i maybe keep one every once in a while for a dinner. i always throw the fish of perfect spawning size back and keep the big ones. this excludes panfish because of their larger populations, and walleye because the 15 in-18 in fish taste so good! (I also only keep keeper sized fish of course.)
  19. thanks alot for the info hopefully i can find them and catch them a little easier this weekend.
  20. there are tons of forums and videos on fishing pre-spawn bass. most of them apply to reservoirs. How do i catch pre-spawn bass in south Michigan's natural lakes that are less than 500 acres?
  21. texas rigged finesse worms or weightless texas rigged have always been my go to confidence bait.
  22. i would say my favorite would be a zoom pumpkin or green pumpkin 6in lizard. i rig it texas rigged with a 1/8 oz bullet with a steady retrieve through weeds or pads.
  23. i always liked the rapala dt 15 or 16 in a bluegill or perch pattern. fish it with a stop go retrieve with a occasional jerk. when your lure is under the boat let it sit for like 5 secs.(just in case a bass is following it)
  24. I prefer to rig my creature baits weightless texas rigged usually with a 3/0 wide gap hook. The carolina rig works good too because it gives the bait a slower fall rate.
  25. I have always used senkos such as the yum dinger for a while. fish them weightless texas rigged on a 3/0 wide gap hook. I prefer the 4 inch senkos, 5 inch seems to be too bulky.
