  1. Hi there, I'd like to hear the opinion of you guys whether the blank of this rod would be able to handle some light texas rig fishing, let's say 6 or 7 inch worms, 2/0-3/0 hook with 12-15 lbs fluorocarbon fishing line.
  2. Does anybody know why the revo sx is selling at a discounted price at basspro shops? Just wondering if it is going to be discontinued or there will be a new revo generation to replace it.
  3. Thanks for the inputs guys. @Chrisran99, good to know, I was a little concerned about hook setting power with the MXF rod. @fishnkamp. yes, I would prefer a two piece, it's easier to carry in the trunk of my car. I like to hit the ponds after work.
  4. Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new spinning rod and I'd like to get some advice from you all. I am trying to decide between these 2: http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-tds662mxs-team-daiwa-spinning-s-bass-rod.html (6.6' MXF 2 piece) http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Johnny-Morris-CarbonLite-Series-Spinning-Rod/product/1406210641364/(7' MHF 2 piece) I intend to use it to fish texas rig rigs rigged up with 10 inch worms, small jigs like the zero gravity jig, tubes, shaky heads and weightless plastics like senkos, etc... I will match it with my trusty shimano sienna 2500 and use #20 braided line. Any thoughts?
  5. Here in Ontario, Canada where I live we haven't had too many hot days this summer, but I've noticed that bass are inactive during the day, starting to actively feed after 9.00 pm, so I am doing mostly night fishing. Fish have responded well to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits slow rolled, small lipless crank baits and 3 inch senkos t-rigged which was the bait I have caught most fish with, they apparently can't say no to a small offer. Will try fishing with 3/8 oz jigs and some medium diving crank baits.
  6. Thanks for the warm reception guys, really awesome forum. I've been learning a lot just by browsing through it and watching the videos.
  7. Hello everyone, decided to join this awesome forum to learn more from the experts, have been fishing for 15 years on and off, and got hooked up on bass fishing. Ontario province has so many bodies of water to fish that I think that I will never even scratch the surface here. Any how, drop me a line if you know of any good spots not too far from my neck of woods that house bass, either largemouth or smallmouth. Cheers.
