Okuma HS-CM-701M fishing rod

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'd like to hear the opinion of you guys whether the blank of this rod would be able to handle some light texas rig fishing, let's say 6 or 7 inch worms, 2/0-3/0 hook with 12-15 lbs fluorocarbon fishing line.

Mine hasn't seen much use yet, but I'm liking how light the combo is with a Helios Air on it.  Have you read the TT review of this rod?  Quote, "...on a recent trip to Georgia's Lake Lanier I spent a lot of time throwing a weighted paddle tail (which probably weighed about an ounce) and thought it felt acceptable..."  Therefore I'd say what you want to do with the rod would be no problem.  TT gave the rod a "Great" rating.  Liked how well the first one felt to pick up a second.

Going off the ratings on the rod and what you're looking to do with it, should be about perfect.
