  1. I had a border collie in La. back in the early 80s. He went everywhere with me. I used to float down the Tangipahoa river all day fishing in a 14' aluminum jon. He would mostly sleep on the bow. He would wake up every once and awhile and jump in the water for a swim. He didn't bother anyone. After a while he would swim back to the boat and I would have to stop and drag his butt back into the boat. The best part was the "shake". A 60 lb border collie's hair will hold about 20 gallons of water. It was always fun. I used to say, "that dog was smarter than most people". I have been through 3 dogs since, but none that come close to old Sam. Ronnie
  2. You youngsters just pay attention. Us old guys know about goodies that will make you throw rocks at pudding. Note to self: Looks like you can bribe them with pudding. (It's all just too easy) Ronnie Check your math Ronnie, I'm on your side. But yes, I can be bribed with pudding skin. :-[ I knew that and I should have quoted Hookem. That's how freakin senile I am. ;D Ronnie

  4. I have to eat something good for breakfast. The night before, I will usually go to the grocery store and get fresh, OJ, eggs, bacon and a couple of fresh rolls. I get up an hour or more before I have to leave and make my ritual "fishing sandwiches" I usually eat them on the way to the boat ramp. Getting started 'well fed' is a must for a good day on the water. Ronnie
  5. I am sure I over reacted to what I viewed as my "home boys" getting slammed here. I won't edit my post, because I don't believe you can take back what you say, once you have said it. I will however, follow my young friend Hookem's good example and apologize for my sarcasm. Forgive me Hawgin, I was out of line. Please join the fun if you can. :-[ Ronnie
  6. That young people and old guys can have a little fun and relate to each other. Doesn't happen very much in the real world. The 'facepalm' pretty much answers these questions. I reviewed the thread a couple of times and darned if I can't seem to find a request for what you think anywhere. That's a real heartbreaker there, we really do miss you guys. Ronnie
  7. OK, yep that would do it. I guess I can't blame them. Ronnie
  8. Hey Dominick, I'm trying to stick up for you here buddy, but these youngsters have drawn a target on your butt. What did you do to these guys?? ;D Ronnie

  14. Sounds like it's all good. You have my vote for official mediator. Just don't let them little @$#&*!s get the better of us "mature refined gentlemen". Ronnie
  15. I'm confused...can you point me to an "EWG hook" that doesn't have an "offset-shank"?Roger Roger, I think we are at a loss for a proper term for a offset shank hook that is NOT EWG. LOL You know, a good old fashioned worm hook. I am betting that you will have one. Ronnie
  16. we could take them......besides they have muddy...and whens the last time he caught a fish ;D Hey Redneck, That's a little out of line there don't you think? I don't hear Muddy slamming you. It's all about having a little fun. Insults are not needed. Ronnie
  17. Take a look at the back bumper of the pick up. If it has a hole drilled in the center you just need to get the correct size ball for the trailer and stick it in the hole. Worst case, you can get a bolt on receiver hitch for under $100 and a trailer light wiring kit and you are in business. Ronnie
  18. Man, that is one nice SM. Ronnie
  19. Hey Hookem, You might want to think about running things. Now that Hillary is going to be president, gas for your 2009 car will be $10 a gallon, you are short at least one planet, the Yankees have won more world series than any other team and my horse hasn't been high since the early 70s. Are you SURE you want to run things??? Go ahead boys, it's all yours! GIT ER DUN!
  20. OK, with the new rules. I'm in. LOL Here's my entry fee......... Representing NJ and maybe NY. I edited this post to declare that I am competing in the LARGEMOUTH division according to the revised rules. Ronnie
  21. I live in Farmingdale and I fish the Manasquan Reservoir, Assunpink, Thompson Park Lake, Topamemus Lake. Manasquan is one of the best lakes in the state and it's right around the corner frome me. Ronnie
  22. Unless you take LBHs advice and create some kind of a handicap, you have pretty much excluded all of us in the Northeastern USA. There are only 4 states in the country that have a smaller state record than where I live and they are all in the NE. JMHO Ronnie
  23. I would rather travel on the bike too. If you guys can hook me up with a place to stay & a boat to fish from, I have no problem bringing fishing gear on the Wing. Ronnie
  24. Awesome smallmouth Jay. Congratulations, good job! Ronnie
  25. Russ, I will make it down if I can. I will need a place to hole up the night before. I can sleep in the BassBuss if there is a place to plug it in. Ronnie
