  1. Thanks fo your reply. Yes, I have read quite a bit about that one and it was one of the first ones to come out, but I can't justify the higher price of this unit right now. The weight of the ibobber is the lightest so far at 1.7oz and one of the main reasons I am leaning toward it.
  2. It looks like there are about four different manufacturers of these smartphone fish finders and each one seems to offer its own advantages. ibobber - http://reelsonar.com Vexilar SonarPhone - http://shop.vexilar.com/en/sonarphone-1/sonarphone-wtransducer-t-pod-phone-not-included--sp100 Fishhunter - http://www.fishhunter.com Deeper - https://buydeeper.com
  3. What do you mean by the additional $100. The ibobber is between $89-99 from what I have found.
  4. Yeah, it looks like the sonarphone looks a lot more like a real fish finder. Is there anyway to record what it is seeing? One negative I keep reading about is the weight 4.5oz which they say makes a heck of a splash and scares the fish away. I agree about the Bluetooth but don't see me using more than around 50 yards or so away. I may just have to buy them both and see which works best. Thanks again
  5. Thanks for the replies. DogBone_384, Did you look at the others before deciding on the Vexilar? One thing I like about the ibobber is that you can cast it out then reel it in and it provides a map on your phone or can leave it out for real time. Is this feature available of the Vexilar or do you just have to,leave it out to get the readings? Also any idea on the weight of that unit. The ibobber only weighs 1.7oz.
  6. Has anyone pulled the trigger on one of these smartphone fish finders and if so please share your experience. I haven't been able to find many real reviews online and i am seriously considering one. Since I am in a wheelchair and most of my fishing is done from the bank in ponds or small lakes it is hard to move around much so I have to find the best spot and pretty much stay there for most of the time I am fishing. From the research I have done I like some of the features the ibobber offers and it is lower priced than the others. I would appreciate any input on these fish finders or are they a waste of money. Thank you
  7. Okay, Thanks for the information guys. I assume that is the best side to fish from by looking at the lake?
  8. Is the south side of Cedar Creek lake open to public fishing and if so can you get to that side without a Boat? I only see a locked gate to access that side. Thanks guys
  9. Bluebasser86, Looks like you guys had a great day. You mentioned Chanute lake, I am originally from Chanute, never had much luck at that lake though. Is that lake in Garnett? Do you think we could find any descent bank fishing spots I could get to for some decent fishing?
  10. Do you need a boat for this lake or is there some good bank fishing you can recommend?
  11. Thanks guys. I have checked out most of those places but without a boat it is tough to find a good spot plus I am in a wheelchair that makes it even more difficult. Can you recommend an area at heritage park?
  12. Hi guys, My buddy and I are looking for a good place to do some bank fishing this weekend. Since we don't have a boat it's tough to find a good place to go. We are mainly interested in catching fish not that we wouldn't love to pull in some big ones. I have recently learned about the following private fishing camps around the area and was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of them or other suggestions? Really appreciate the help we need a good get away to catch some fish! http://www.basswoodresort.com/default.aspx
  13. Thanks for the additional info on the Ned rig. I have researched it all over internet, but I just want to confirm the hook size. I bought some 1/16 and 1/8 jig heads with size 2 hook and it sure seems like that small of hook would hook anything but a small fish. Are these hooks suppose to be #1, #2 or 1/0, 2/0. Thanks again
  14. I have been reading about the Ned rig and would like to try it out. What size hooks you guys use for this setup?
  15. Welcome to the forum. I am from S. KC area as we'll and recently joined this forum. There is great info on here and I have learned a lot. I hadn't fished with plastics very much until this year and I have to agree with the others that these are great for all different presentations and techniques. You can find great deals online if you look around. Also if you haven't found it, there is a topic for all us in the Kansas City area for fishing reports etc. Best of luck http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/41660-for-us-kc-area-guys-fishing-reports/page-230?hl=kansas
  16. Thanks guys, I didn't think it was going to be that easy. Probably should just save up for a more powerful TM.
  17. Would you mind letting me know what seats these are? The link no longer works and I am looking for some as well. Thank you
  18. Last year I purchased a Minn Kota Endurance C2 30 and installed it on a Jon boat. It works pretty well for the small lake I fish, but if I get into any grass at all it just wraps around the prop. Does anyone have any experience with the Minn Kota Weedless Wedge Prop or Weedless Wedge Prop 2 or recommendations on a better prop that might cut through grass better? Thanks for your help
  19. Thanks guys, great info. I see Lenexa lake now and looks like some spots I can probably fish.
  20. I checked out Olathe lake on navionics and google earth and it looks like there might be quite a few spots I can get to. I can shuffle around some so not totally confined to a wheelchair as long as can get a trunk close to the area. Is Lenexa lake the one around Cedar creek estates? Is it open to public? Thanks for all your help. Sorry to intrude on your thread but just good to know there are some options around here to fish.
  21. Ok thanks, I will checkout the others you recommended then.
  22. bluebasser86, Thanks for that information. Will definitely look into those lakes. I fished cedar one time and didn't even get any bites, from what little I have heard it's not that great or maybe just don't know where to fish. Anybody fish Gardner or heritage park?
