To me, frog is just for heavy vegetation. A heavy braid + frog is my go-to combo for the situation. Poppers are just a lot of fun to work with. There are just so many choice, I wish I could try them all. They catch me more than the fish. lol

A Fluorocarbon leader or copolymer leader with braid main line are what I use most of the times. FC+Braid is nothing new to say. But the copolyer + braid is a great thing to work with.
