Best way to patch hole in hull?
DO NOT USE BONDO!!!!!! You will want to repair it with fiberglass, or you might be able to use some form of marine epoxy. Back when I was working in an auto parts store there was a marine epoxy that we sold that I had heard really good things about. Unfortunately I can't remember the brand name of the stuff.

Reconditioned Trolling Motors?
I have a Roconditioned MinnKota that came with the boat when I bought it. I've had no problems with it, as far as I know the previous owners never had any problems either.

Texas or wacky ??
Roger, LBH Thank You!!!! This is exactly how I've been rigging my Senko's. I had originally tried this when I was having hookset problems thinking the fish were only grabbing the tail end of the worm. I've found it works quite well, and have cought numerous fish with it rigged this way. It falls and wiggles at both ends just like when wacky rigged.

Soldering tips needed
Ben is 100% correct on this. There is no need to use anything other than Rosin core solder. When lead corrodes it is an external type of corrosion, If a connection is soldered properly this will not affect any continuity. Take a wire brush and clean it and it will look just like new again. As a matter of fact the copper wire will probably need replaced before the soldered connection.

red sores on LMB???
We have a lake here that has terrible water quality. At one time it was just a low lying swampy area that a creek ran through, the city dammed it and created a lake. Years ago when we moved here, before the city had grown, the lake was in good shape. But as the city grew, and the more cars that were on the road, the water quality just went to crap. Now 90% of the bass we pull out of this lake have sores on them just like you describe.

Is bigger really better??
Not a problem, gotta give credit where credit is due.

Is bigger really better??
Roger I have to say that was an excellent explanation, thanks. I'm fairly new here, and I've been reading and searching and have noticed that you go out of your way to provide excellent info. It's evident that you are an experienced fisherman who has been at it for a good number of years. I notice that many fisherman are pretty tight lipped with their experiences/knowledge and I just wanted to say I appreciate you sharing it with us.

Need help with trolling motor install
I can't help on the mounting, but to get 24 volts from two 12 volt batteries you need to wire them in series. In other words, you need to connect a negative terminal on one battery to the others positive terminal. Then connect your power wires to the remaing positive and negative terminals.

Working at picking a fishing boat, want comments
Now why did you have to go and mention barbeque. Now I've got food on the brain and I'm trying to watch my girlish figure. ;D Goldsboro huh, I played football for New Hanover High school here. We had some tough games against G-boro.

Another bearing question
This is the method I've always used, easy as one two threesy. If you don't have the trailer at the house to do this you will have to do as Ben said. Depending how large the hub is, you should be able to use a deepwell socket or anything similar.

Dave No problem. I haven't needed to upgrade anything on this boat. I do want to add an extension to the rear deck so the rear passenger has some more standing room, but that's more of a "nice to have" than a need. Take a look at these two links, it's a two part story about a tournament angler who prefers this boat over his big bass boat for catching trophy bass. He's made some mods to the boat which are neat, including the rear deck extension I mentioned. http://www.another sitearmy.com/bfa_news_article.asp?ID=11 http://www.another sitearmy.com/bfa_news_article.asp?ID=28

I've got the KL industries 11'3" pro 120 boat and I absolutely love it. It's way more stable than any 12' jon i've ever been in. I've got a 15hp Johnson and a MinnKota Endura 30lb thrust trolling motor on it. This thing will plane fully loaded with two 230+lb fishermen and will do 13 to 14 mph (thats all I need). I weigh 230 and my buddy weighs every bit of 280, we can stand at the same time and walk all over this boat. Try that with a 12' jon and you'll be swimming. And I respectfully disagree about the durability, this boat is tough. One of the lakes I fish is loaded with trees, logs, standing timber, stumps and floaters. I've hit things in this boat and it doesn't leave a dent. You know as well as I do that if you hit something with an aluminum boat it's going to either puncture it or leave a nasty dent. I bought this boat used for $1200 with the outboard, trolling motor and a nearly new trailer. The ONLY thing that I dislike about the boat is it's heavy. It takes two people to lift it(without the outboard and fuel tank), and you better take all your gear out before you lift it. It's definitely do-able, but I just thought I would mention it. Don't let anyone tell you the plastic boats are junk, it just isn't true. They have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages far outweigh the negatives for me, it's up to you to decide which is better for your needs.

Summer Fishng
I'm experiencing the same thing here in southeast NC in two lakes I fish regularly. A week to two weeks ago the fish were holding in the shallows and were tearing up the Senkos, now I can't buy a bite with them. The bass seem to have moved to deeper water, and the few that I have caught in the shallows were dinks. I've verified this by sight fishing and with my depth finder. I've since moved to deeper water(10 plus feet) using Texas rigged trick worms and lizards and have had much better success. I've also had pretty good luck throwing topwater lures in the evening and at night.
