  1. Truth be told, I'm too conventional. I tend to use lures only in the manner in which they are designed to be used. I could definately benefit from some out of the box thinking. It's not that I don't have some of those ideas, it's just that I can't bring myself to do something that I have no confidence in.
  2. Thanks guys! I got 'er done. I'm hitting the water tomorrow to try her out....can't wait!
  3. Skeeter I-Class!!!!! Skeeters are sweeeeeeet 8-)
  4. Okay Guys, bear with me here. I'm pretty much a novice with this stuff, but I can't afford to pay someone else to do it, so I'm going to have to figure this out. I have a '96 Skeeter SS90. It came with a 12v MG motor, which I'm finally upgrading to a 24v Minn Kota. It's turning out to be a bigger job than I anicipated. I've already been advised that I need at least 6 guage wire. The boat has 10 guage, so I'm going to have to change that. There are three wires there now, red, orange and black. With the 12v, the red and black are being used and the orange is not. I also need to add another battery. The way I understand it, you hook the postive of one battery to the negative of the other battery and hook the positive wire from the trolling motor to the remaing positve post and the negative to the remaining negative post. If that is correct, what is the third wire for? I have a 2 bank charger. Do I need to hook that up differently, or just hook both batteries up the same as if I were running a 12v system? Also, there is no way that I can bolt the mount on with the nuts, bolts and washers that were provided. There is no way, short of hacking a big hole in deck, that I can get the nuts under the deck. The four holes that are there from the Motor Guide mount match up perfectly with the new one, but they are really big due to the fact that the old mount was held on using those rubber anchors. I know that it would be best to bolt it on, but I just don't see how that is possible. The easiest thing to do would be to use the rubber anchors. I really want to do it right, but it seems that I don't have alot of options. Any other ideas? Sorry for the long post :-[ Thanks!
  5. 5/8 oz black Jitterbug, Hula Popper, and buzzbaits are my go to baits. If that doesn't produce, I'll try a 1/2 oz black single Colorado blade spinnerbait or a 1/4 oz jig and pig. Clear water lakes are best.
  6. If everything checks out, it's a steal at $2,500.
  7. I have 60 horse Mariner that I bought new in '96. It runs great. I have never even had it tuned up. I change the plugs once a year and do all the other maintenance myself. RPMs are going to depend on the prop you're running.
  8. Fishing points with Carolina rigged french fries is my favorite post spawn pattern.
  9. RocknFish, I live fairly close to you. On most of the inland lakes around here, the first thing I look for is a weedline adjacent to a drop off. If they're not there, I look for weedy flats with deep water near by.
  10. jcrazy, Try this: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.SubClass?hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=5&hvarSubCode=2&cmid=FILN_OS_HARDBAITS_MINNOWS
  11. Spinnerbaits are very versitlile lures and can be worked a variety of ways. I pretty much work 'em two ways....fast and faster
  12. I'm probably going to take a beating for this ;D, but as far as personalities go, I like Charlie Moore. Now, if you're talking about educational value, and I have to pick only one, I'd have to go with Bill Dance. I aslo enjoy Hank Parker, Shaw Grigsby and the Linders.
  13. I probably don't try it as often as I should. The only time it dawns on me to trow one in the middle of the day is when it's overcast and the breeze is blowing. I've caught some good ones on buzzbaits in those conditions. I like buzzbaits with clackers most of the time.
