  1. I agree. But the Pickerel is in the Pike family.
  2. Their new sales start on Sundays.
  3. I was doing a little research and the Chain Pickerel and Redfin Pickerel are common in Alabama. The Alabama fish site leads me to believe it is a Chain Pickerel. I have heard some say it is a junk fish and some say it is good eating.
  4. I stopped in Dick's today on the way to work to see what they had going on sale starting today. I picked up 5 packs of Big Bait Bites worms for $5.00
  5. Someone said it might be a Pike, so I thought I would ask here because I knew yall would know.
  6. I hate the cheating too. But there is no way to have someone banned from local tournaments. They go on several days a week at lots of locations. I wish there were a way but that would be hard to accomplish.
  7. My son caught this on the Chattahoochee River, Lake Harding area in Alabama. What is it?
  8. It looks like Auto Zone carries them and I will pay them a visit tomorrow.
  9. Titans, is that first one something you can leave on the trailer while being towed and at the ramp left unattended? The second link I can't open.
  10. I am talking about a tongue lock.
  11. Maybe someone should post a link or photo of the ones to use and to not use.
  12. I am not sure what wheel locks are. Are they the silver flat round ones?
  13. That is a great idea. I will check on the ball and also get a locking receiver for my hitch. What kind of lock is best for the trailer?
  14. I just think it is the polite thing for the co angler to do. As a boater, it is appreciated, but not required. The OP just sounded angry. He must be talking about being forced to fish with someone, like in a tournament. I don't fish them and don't know how that works. I didn't know non boaters just showed up expecting to fish a tournament. If so, I think they should offer to pay some gas fees. Maybe someone can tell me how that works.
  15. I was wondering if most people lock their trailers. If so, what kind of lock do you recommend?
  16. Just a few days ago, my son and I have just finished fishing and went to eat at a local restaurant off the beaten path and I parked the truck and boat across the small road, hoping I could see it. When we came out, all of my son's rod and reels were gone along with my worm tackle box that I left in the open. He had his poles propped up in the boat so he could remove them when we got home. He was devastated. He said, "Daddy, my poles mean everything to me". I was heartbroken for him and still am. Now I am trying to find some replacements for him. It has been a sad couple days at my house.
  17. I have 3 of them. Love mine too.
  18. Comparing an adult co angler to a kid is comparing apples to oranges.
  19. Thanks Wayne. I may try the smart phone app first. I am sure it is much less expensive.
  20. What do I need to look for when purchasing a handheld GPS? I have never used one and don't know what to look for.
  21. I live very close to West Point Lake and don't fish it much. It is a bit harder to fish to me than Lake Harding. I think some of us should get together and have some fishing fun on West Point.
  22. Well, Ok then. It sounds a bit complicated to me. But sounds fun. I stopped a guy last summer in his mid 30's driving pretty fast and he was dressed pretty nice and had a bag or two and some bags with snacks in it. I asked him what his hurry was and he said he was going to the lake to meet some friends to play fantasy football. I said, "What is fantasy football?" He looked a little embarrassed and mumbled some answer I didn't understand. I'm not sure who was more puzzled; me or him. I just wrote him a ticket and let him go.
  23. I'm lost. What is fantasy football?
  24. I use Weather Bug. It works great for me. Very accurate radar.
  25. Yep, check the tongue. It usually has a spot on it too.
