No its deff the handle, if i had a vidcam and still had the reel id post it, im going to be getting my 3rd in the following week though. I was going to just get a zillion crazy cranker, but i really do like the winch minus the backplay. Im hoping flushing out the a/r will fix the problem

If that's the case, then it would seem as if the reels I received had too much gunk in the a/r. I think ill get another winch and just give it a full cleaning, See if the problem goes away, if not, ill look into new a/r bearings Since I really do like the reel a lot, just really hate the backplay.

I was wondering if maybe theres back play from the reel being over lubed, because I just had my hands on an stx that didn't have any play, but a friend of mine said his new out of the box has no play at all in the handle. hmm. Anyone elses revo winch have play in it? Im also seeing tackle tours copy had play but their copy of the stx didn't have play in the handle either.

I dont mind paying a little bit more for the daiwa, but if the a/r can be fixed or swapped for a more tighter one Ill deff go back to the winch. As for the play between the handle and gearbox, if very thin shimming washers in the correct location will fix that, then I think going back to the winch will work for me and save me a few bucks.

So i sent back my revo winch to the store and on thursday and they are going to call me about what reel i want to exchange the winch for, and im stuck between diawas crazy cranker and shimanos chronarch 150 cI4+. All i really want to know is does the crazy cranker have any backplay in the handle as well as the chronarch cI4+? I really can't stand play in my reels and is something i cant overlook.

Yeah i read something about that as well, I'm really not a fan of play in my reels. I can't enjoy it. I was considering a Diawa crazy cranker over the winch after going through 2 of them and realizing that backplay wasnt a dud, figured maybe i could change out the ar bearing but oh well.

Jrob, if you get the chance can you check your type r's to see if theres anyplay on the handle and between the handle and gear box? Its something i cant look past, lets just say i have a bad case of OCD. If theres no play in the type R ill gladly pay more for them over the 100's Rippin, thats great to hear, I didn't think that would happen but i just had to make sure, thanks.

Hey guys, Im lookin to pick up a few tatula 100's really soon, and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions. 1. Is there any black play in the handle, even if its the slightest amount of play? 2. Is there any play between the handle and gear box? and 3. Ive heard something about the tws causing some line fraying problems from braid, ever experience it? Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I just picked up a 3rd Gen Revo Winch and noticed theres is just a slight back play in the handle and its driving me nuts, I was wondering if anyone has upgraded the anti reverse bearing and knows what dimensions i would need. I mean, i can live with the back play its not bad, but I can't enjoy the reel with it there if you know what i mean, its bothering me a lot. Just to point this out, i have tightened the drag and the backplay is still there. Thanks in advace

I'm 20 years of age and I'm really looking forward to interacting with all of you and gathering up as much information as possible. I just came off of a 3 year hiatus from Bass fishing as well. I have been fishing since i was about 4 and fished in Bass Jr a while back. Oh and I have quite the obsession with crankbaits. Lol
