  1. Welcome to the best Bass fishing site on the planet!
  2. I Leave the BBs in the head and superglue them in place. You still have the same weight as the original but it runs quieter. As for sealing the holes, I just use a 2 part epoxy. Mix untill it starts to harden and seal the hole. Sand down the rough edges and you are good to go. You can paint it if you want but I usually leave it alone. Doesn't seem to matter if its painted or not. Practice on old ones 1st because you will probably ruin a few before you get it right.
  3. To get a rattletrap to run quiet turn it upside down and drill a small hole big enough to pour a little superglue in the chamber. Make sure the BBs are in the head before gluing. Reseal the hole and you have a very effective trap that works well in heavily pressured water.
  4. Thanks Matt. I had never heard of this untill now. I would have still been happy with a fish of that size even if the 2 lbs was deducted from the total weight.....
  5. 2 LB Diving weight? In the gut of a Bass? What am I missing here guys?
  6. Check out Kevin VanDams book. Covers just about everything that you really need to know and is easy (and relaxing) to read.
  7. Yeah I believe you should try topwater baits all year long. Let the fish tell you what they want and respond accordingly. For example, last weekend air temp was at 27 degs with water temps in the low 50s. Two guys were fishing slow in front of me and I never saw them with a fish and yet there were swirls all around them. When they moved out I came in with a Spook and had a blast. The fish wanted something on top that morning even though it was freezing out. Pay attention to your area and even if there's a blizzard going on and you see fish come up, throw topwaters.
  8. Wow that sounds pretty COOL! Keep this thread going and give us updates as you get them. I would love to follow this tournament!
  9. LOL! I should have known! I have also heard about some of the things he supposedly did along the way. Thanks Fivebass.....
  10. Fivebass and Jeff H, Who was the guy who staked out his fish on the pro circuit? I know it doesn't really matter anymore but you have my curiosity going........
  11. Thanks for the tips John. If I get my baits in time I will try em out this weekend.
  12. The Bait Monkey just bit me! I ended up ordering a pack of the silly rabbit swim baits just a few minutes ago. I have no idea why since I am not entirely convinced that the swimbait is any better than the other baits I use. That being said, does anyone have any special tips on rigging or fishing these things?
  13. Yes white worms work. I won a tournament last weekend fishing white tubes, worms, and spinnerbaits. The biggest came off the tube.
  14. I used to think up all these really cool pick up lines that I wanted to use but when it came time to say something all I could muster was "HI"....... LOL! It worked though.......
  15. Good Luck and hurry back! Muddy needs your help with the one-liners! God Bless, Shawn
