The Best and Biggest bass tournament in history!!!

Featured Replies

Ok they are putting together a trophy hunting tournament trail just for guys who catch big bass.

The first event will be held at lake Casitas in Ca. its a $200 entry 100% payback and winner take all, one big fish Tourny!!! How cool is that. To even make it better they have limited the amount of anglers to 50 with 25 spots reserved for invite only. Those spots will be the who's who of the big bass world!!!

This is going to be awsome. The other 25 spots will be filled up at the Bass-a-thon. The funny thing is you should hear all the regular tournament guys whinning about how they should be on thelist because of there previous tournament wins, when very few of them have ever caught a big bass and if they have its an extreme rarety. I have also heard how anybody could win with one "lucky" big bite. Man are those poor guys oblivious. If they actualy get in they think they have a chance against 25 of the best big bass fisherman in the world. This should be an eye opener. I dont know who is on the list, but I am sure Fish Chris and SuperMat got an invite and if I would have got involved earlier I would have pleaded my case for Randall. I was not invited  :'( and rightfully so, there are some increadble sticks that will be there. I sure would love to see KVD or any of those guys show up and donate. Ha Ha.

Now Ike on the other hand is a diferent storry. He has come out to Casitas and thrown big swimbaits and killed them. I bet he got an invite to.

I am sure some of you arent that impressed and thats ok its your opinion. This T just suits my kind of fishing so for me its the best one ever!!

Any chance this wont be won on a swimbait

Now that's a tournament I love to watch in person; bet I could pick up a thing or two  ;)

Did FishChris get an invite?

;D ;D ;D  WOO-HOO!  ;D ;D ;D

Wish you had gotten an invite, I'm sure some of those guys will be sporting a Mattlure or two!

That rocks dude. Should be some good ones caught.

Wow that sounds pretty COOL! Keep this thread going and give us updates as you get them. I would love to follow this tournament!

Matt, Ken Huddleston is the major sponsor. You can get all the info of of his website.

Sounds awesome!

Matt, Thanks for just putting my name in there.  I did think about trying to enter and had lined up a boat to use and a place to stay if I flew out there for the tournament. But my wife just had a major surgery yesterday and the timing isn't right for me.  I may try to get in the tournament in one of the following years though. Would be tough fishing against guys who know the California waters better but who knows what might happen. I always have wanted to fish California why not just start in a tournament. Would be kind of fun seeing the reaction of some of the Western guys if I could actually win the thing and bring that belt to the East coast.

Randall you have knowledge of big bass. You would have to adjust but I think you could. Plus more than likely you would be doing something a little diferent than the rest of the field wich could either give you no chance at all or it could be an edge. I do know one thing, the regulare tournament guys who think they have a chance at getting lucky are in for a reality check. I could probably still get in but that lake is LOOOOONG drive for me and I have never fished it before. who knows maybe if I can make the time.

I spoke to the tournament director.

Apparently my invitation got lost in the mail.

I didn't get my invite? It must be lost in the mail. ;D ;D ;D

I think there should be more one fish tournaments everywhere. I guess Cali is an appropriate starting point. Of course in states not as fortunate as Cali, a 5 pounder would take home the cash.....but, most everybody would have their limit ;D and the weigh-ins would be intense!

Culling would be 5 times easier too!

I like the idea of the Big Bass Tourney. Our club does something similar once a year as a fun outing.

You definately have to change your way of thinking and fishing.

One bite........

I am in a one fish tournament next weekend here in GA. One of the clubs here that fishes the small Atlanta lakes took all the big fish winners for the year and made a no entry fee big fish championship. I fished with the club one time on Lake Varner and won big fish but chances are I will have to fish a lake I have never been on before since they are going to draw the lake next Friday and I have never fished or just fished once on the other lakes the club fishes. Still should be fun though not having to fish for anything but one big fish. I have also fished the ***** online tournament at www.bountyfishing.com. They have an ad that comes up on this site.  Its a big fish tournament that uses the length of fish instead of weight to fish for $1000. I have fished the tournament three times and won the LM bass tournament twice. The last week I fished I set a new record with a 27.5 inch fish and actually had first through third with three fish I caught but they only let you enter one fish.  :(Its for all over North America and has different species of fish each week. Its a neat concept since its based on the length of a fish in a photo but there have been a few people who didn't follow the rules or tried to cheat but they were all caught as far as I know so maybe it will work out since there you can fish all week for one big fish. Its nice to know that you just need one big bite a week to do well there. Maybe there will be a lot more one fish tournaments in the future since it seems like there is a growing intrest in it.

Randall, ***** is awesome & multi species to  ;)

I've fished a few big fish tournaments on the Bend but they were small club events where every one throws $25 into a hat with the winner taking all.

Catt,

you never fished the BBS?    23 years of Big Bass Splashes on Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, and Lake Fork.    Over 1.2 million guaranteed every year.    Theres lots of them around other than Sealy's.

Well Duh  :-?

I've fished dozens of Splashes along with the KYKZ/KYKX Big Bass Classics; all big bass tournaments   ;)

That cool for you guys. Hope it becomes huge. I would like to see a format that would crown the best "big bass" fisherman of the year. But like Matt said, it's definitely not my cup of tea! Now if they made it where it was the 5 biggest bass and had a 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. then I would be interested, but I think they already have something similar to that ::) ...anyway, hope someone from this forum wins one of those tourneys.

Is Dave Zimmerlee on the list?

Would it be OK if he showed up with his spinning pole and a Zebco mounted on it like that one time and waxed another 20lber?

Just askin.   ;)

Oh I am sure mr Zimmerlee will not be invited, especialy since several fisherman reported seeing him scoop the already dead fish out of the water with a net. Strange how no big fish have been reported from him before or after that 20 ::)

So scooping dead fish out of the water is a no-no in this tourney, how about foul hooking them?  Do they have to be hooked in the mouth to count?   ;)

California state law says they must be hooked in the mouth to be legal catch at any time of the year..
