Jigs
I don't know that there is a wrong way to fish a jig. I've caught them as soon as it hits the water on a pitch, as it sinks in deeper water. You can swim it, hop, drag, shake do whatever you want. Key is being where the fish are. Like WRB said, if you are fishing in the wrong place, you might as well be fishing in a swimming pool. Try to imagine what the creature you are trying to imitate would move like. If you are going for crawfish, I like 3 pops and a few second sink repeated. If you are going for baitfish, swim in a let it drop. If you can make your bait act as real as possible to what you are imitating, and then make it look wounded... its hook up time. Bass are lazy when it comes to food. 10 times would rather take an easy target (wounded)

Lake Of The Ozarks
Wow... how long did that fish haunt you? I'm a big fan of shaky-head and obviously jigs. Where you on chunk rock and brush? Or just bottom irregularities? PB2 would be a long boat ride from where I stay up by the dam, but I've done it before. I love that freaking lake.. March/April and September/October are my favorite times to be there.

How Does Each Brand Ride?
Just curious, don't pretty much all bass boats sit nose high? Seems every flw or bassmaster tourney you watch they are always nose high and go to either cockpit or back of the boat to land fish...

I Finally Have A Boat...how Do I Fish A Lake?
3/8 oz jigs or t-rigged baby brush-hog on rocks, docks, weed lines and visible lay downs, brush piles, trees. Easiest way to catch them big or small. Once you get your confidence from that start exploring. Have fun and don't over think it!

Topic. On Catching Way To Many Fish
Lol, and I absolutely will not catch a 7-8#er at big bass bash to cash a $70k check. Just will never happen!

Grand Lake?
Shakey head. Not sure of water conditions there but if you time it when the water is up in the willow trees I'd be flipping jigs all day.

Crank Baits
Foul hooks on cranks can either mean the fish missed it, or didn't really intend to get it, (just struck at it because you ticked it off). Part of fishing.

Getting The Feel For Tournaments?

Aba (American Bass Anglers) Co-Anglers
You are going to get great boaters that you can learn a lot from, and then you are gonna get total dbags too. Don't get discouraged if your boater seems to be a jerk. Chances are you are in the boat with someone that has had some bad co anglers as well. Some where on here I saw a co angler etiquette or do's and don'ts. Take every experience good or bad in and learn from it. GL
