Does the turbulence from the prop make the device see thousands of fish?

All but one of these reels are defective. The handles are on the wrong side!

I sort of got it. I told my wife, "some moderator on Bass Resource is sick of the "what is the best ______" posts and now talks about avocados." I was close!

Somebody forgot to torque! I have never rechecked a tire. Once correctly torqued, they stay that way.

Just a matter of time for me, I'm sure. For you guys that jump in to cool off, make sure you know which way the wind is blowing your boat before you jump. A few years back a guy here jumped in to cool off and died trying to catch up to his wind-blown boat. To make matters worse his girlfriend was in the boat but did not know how to start or drive it. True story!

A key might be whether or not the boat/your presence is noticeable to the fish.

Unfortunately my most memorable experience is not a good one. I was probably 10 and we were camping at the Salton Sea (in its hey day). A guy walked past our camp with a heavy stringer of Corvina. He gave up all the pertinent intel, and we were off! My dad had bought me an old baitcaster at a swap meet. We no sooner got to the spot than everyone was hooked up! 3-4 pound silvery fish were being dragged onto the shore all around me. I was sitting in the sand with an impossible backlash, crying! I did not catch a single fish in that feeding frenzy, and, as you can tell, I remember it to this day! That did not deter me from continuing to pursue fishing. When its in your blood, there's no getting it out.

All good stuff here! When I am cranking around brush or rocks (which is most of the time) I am painfully aware of what is or is not a bite. While swings are often free, sometimes they cost the amount of the bait. And yes, getting hung on a bunch of line that somebody cut off is very annoying! Just pull straight back and the line will usually break at the knot. If you are worried about stretching your line, switch to braid.

Carry two rods. Have one rigged up with a reaction bait, the other with a slow, bottom contact bait. Start with the reaction, then go with the worm. Move often.

The magic is waders! I have not figured out the skiing vs swimming thing yet.
