Maybe let's not focus so much on his example and on the question at hand.
I've grown up in the northeast and have spent the last three years in the south. While there is a lot of crossover as mentioned, I have found a decent amount of lures that work in one or the other, not both.
Do yall have a go to color for your TX rig...mine was always a black power worm, since I've moved to north carolina, my black worm hasn't been so good to me.
You can also pick up the yum brand one at dicks for $5-10. I run it with 50 lb braid. By the time you fully rig it up you could be talking 30-50$ depending on what swim baits and hooks you go with. Don't won't to see that sinking to the botton.
I've never widely used either. Though one summer in the Delaware River, the only thing smallmouths wanted was a jitterbug with the nose dish removed. No idea why, it only made a very weak water disturbance.
That's great, it only esclates from here. In terms of new lures, techniques, etc. you want to try and the satisfaction doesn't go away.
All the money, i spend on fishing would be worth it just for the escape of being out on the water. The fish are a bonus.
