  1. I love fishing in the summer! I start end of March/beginning of April with trout fishing. I do that for 2 months or so, then head right in to summer for bass.
  2. This happened to be about 2 years ago on the Delaware River. It was a beautiful stripped bass!
  3. I've never trolled for bass. Doesn't seem like a very "fun" way to fish for bass. Thats just my opinion though.
  4. What does everyone think of him? I personally am not a fan. I don't care for his attitude amongst many other qualities. Regardless, he is an NFL QB now. My prediction: I think he will be a very average quarterback. I think he will have good seasons, and bad seasons over his career. He may have been a top caliber QB in college, on a top NCAA team, but this is the NFL and I think he is in for a rude awakening.
  5. I generally start players depending on who they are playing against. Obviously someone like Manning, Brees, AP, Grahmm, Megatron...you play them no matter what. As far as my flex players...I like using WRs more. Brian Hartline and Danny Woodhead did great for me last season as a flex. I know there are many who will take Peyton in rd 1. I defiantly won't! My first pick will be either Mcoy or Charles.
  6. I had last pick last year also. I went with Alfred Morris. This year I have first. Does this mean Im destined to finish dead last? haha
  7. I always just use a little salt, pepper and the smallest amount of butter. I like keeping it easy. A buddy of mine puts on all types of rubs and spices, on his trout. Afterwards, you can't even taste the actual fish. Also, I more times than none pan sear it. I haven't tried on a cedar plank yet, as mentioned above. That sounds awesome
  8. I don't disagree that McCoy is a top RB. But based on Jamal Charles' consistency last season, that is why I would pick him. AP is obviously a #1-3 pick also, but I see him getting dinged up early on. Id be down for a FF thread. I am in 2 leagues, I already had one draft and my main one is the end of next month. My roster last season won my league championship with: P. Manning E. Lacy/ F. Jackson/ D. Woodhead / A. Morris R. Cobb/Ty Hilton/B. Hartline/ K.Allen V. Davis/ C. Clay S. Goskowski Cardinals D
  9. Pre-season is coming up! I've done a few mock drafts for fun. I get the 1st pick in my "main league"...so I would say I am going with either Jamal Charles or Adrian Peterson. Good luck!
  10. Thats a nice swing! He sure got in front of that one!
  11. Football season is nearing! Can't wait!
  12. I just turned 31. Half way there! hahaha
  13. Does anyone have any experience here? A buddy and I started going here just last summer; a few smallmouth, perch and 1 catfish. Anywho...I'm just trying to see if anyone out there has any feedback about this place. We do go out in a boat. Much thanks! Jim
  14. Check out this map of Green Lane. I just found it actually and it seems pretty decent! Jim http://www.montcopa.org/DocumentCenter/View/2398
  15. Sorry I am just reading this now. I hope your trip went well! I honestly go all around Green Lane. If you turn right when on Rt 63 ( at the gas station ) follow that up the curvy hills and past the elementary school. Turn left on Mclean Station Rd. Go over the bridge and you'll see some parking. I've ventured down under the bridge a few times and have landed a few smallmouth ( and catfish ). As far as in a boat: Launching off of Walt Rd I think is the best bet. It kind of leaves you in the middle of the reservoir, so you can go where ever. Its really just a matter of finding "that spot" on any given day. When its good its good, but when bad...its awful! haha Best of luck! Jim
  16. Hey Gerry, sounds like we are both having great luck this season at Green Lane! It is honestly the best year I've had since I was probably a teenager, as far as fishing Green Lane. I've been using quite a bit of the Berkley Havoc Pit Boss' on a rugby jig. Jim

  18. I tend to have decent luck the day AFTER a steady storm. I am heading to Lake Towhee/Nockamixon today. Hopefully it pans out well.
  19. In previous years I haven't had the best of luck here. But so far this season I have been having great luck with the smallmouth towards the reservoir and upper end past Marlborough elementary. Does anyone else fish Green Lane?
  20. I started on the Abu Garcia Silver Max last year. It took some getting used to, as anything new. But from my research the Silver Max sounded like a good "starter reel". I have it on a 6'6" medium action Abu Garcia Vendetta rod. A few months ago I purchased the Pro Max reel along with a 6'6" Veritas rod. Both set ups were around $150-160 I believe. Good luck! Jim
  21. Hey all, I found this site through some general bass fishing searches online. After about 2 hours of browsing the site, I joined. I've been fresh water fishing since I was about 5. I frequent: Lake Nockamixon, Green Lane, Blue Marsh, Upper end of the Delaware River and most recently Black Rock. I always love learning new tips and tecqniques regarding bass fishing! -Jim
