Both are great reels, but I'd say go with the Curado I. It's got all the new bells and whistles. Plus I'm going to bet Shimano disontinues the Chronarch E, seeing as the Curado I is $20 cheaper, and then the Chronarch Ci4 is $70 more. Just doesn't make sense for them to keep it around much longer.

I thought the same... Foam handles is the only reason I've avoided Shimano rods in the past few years.

As far as crankbaits go, I'd have to give it to the Berkley Flicker Shad

For a little bit more than your price range, you can get the new Shimano Curado I. Or the Diawa Tatuala is another solid choice in your price range.

I love both of my Chronarch Ci4's. I'm hoping that maybe Shimano will revamp the Core this year at iCast!
