Double Colorado Blade Spinnerbaits.
There's a reason most spinnerbait guys are known to build their own.

Shelf-life for unused fishing line.
I'm sure if you called Berkley (or whoever the manufacturer is), they could give you a better answer than some random guys on the internet.

Question for the experienced guys or pros..
Coike's and FFS is the only answer here, right?

Fantasy Fishing 2026
I was rooting for him. Looks like he got edged out by Harlin on the final day though.

Are you sure Logan Parks is fishing? He left the Pasquotank River event this past weekend mid event because his wife was having a baby.

Maine "Record" Bass
Given the head to body size ratio and how thin the body looks, this looks like ole boy caught the oldest gal in a starved out pond. I'd be surprised if this fish breaks the 4.5 pound mark.

Fantasy Fishing 2026
Another wild event is in the books and Jason Christie has come out on top again. In an event where so many struggled to get bites while others were bringing in 25+ pound bags, the veteran got it done with his urchin bait. We are 8 events into the season and only 2 remain. @Adkfishing has built a fairly comfortable lead but anything is possible as the boys will head north to do a little smallmouth fishing. We have 58 days to do research and try to catch him, so get to it! Current Top 5 ADK MIbassyaker kglass TexasFlood Sschader

a decade + of shooting deer and I did a few things for the first time. one is a burger!!
Just now seeing this post but wanted to comment since I process all my own meat. Much like NewRiver, I grind all of my deer meat. I make it all into sausage/chorizo and hamburger. Like Gim said, you have to put some fat into the mix because of how lean it is. I feel like it helps with flavor and it helps it stick together better. The first time I made burger without adding any fat, it wouldn't stick together and would crumble apart while I was grilling it. For my chorizo and hot sausage, I go for a mix around 70/30 to 60/40. So if I have 20 pounds of deer meat, I'll add in 6-7 pounds of pork shoulder or bacon (or a combination of the two). For my hamburgers, I usually mix it with that cheap 75/25 beef burger. Adding in some bacon only adds additional flavor.

My entire roster is between 26th and 65th place. Gonna be a grind to get them all inside the cut.

Looking for Strongest Spinnerbait
I can't say I've ever come across someone who considers themselves a snakehead fishermen, so welcome. As someone who builds his own jigs and spinnerbaits, I would suggest you look into doing the same if you want a bass sized spinnerbait with super heavy gauge wire. Nothing on the market is going to satisfy what you are looking for. For reference, a typical bass spinnerbait wire gauge is 0.028 to 0.040 inches in diameter. You are probably going to want something at least 0.050 to 0.070 in diameter. You are also going to notice a lot less action in the water with a very heavy gauge wire.

And we are underway! Good luck everyone.

Bass breaking the rules
I can remember a few years back - I was at a lake and I got back into a small cove on the morning of July 4th. My partner and I got into a huge group of spawning fish full of 3 and 4 pound females. They were on beds everywhere in 80 degree water.

What are your favorite ways to fish northern milfoil?
Obviously this depends on how submerged it is. I love ripping a rattle trap, Baby 1-, or bladed jig over the top of it if I can. If it's a little higher up in the column, twitching a Fluke or a swim jig are good options. If I have to go over the top, a buzzbait or frog is always fun. If I have to go through it, a Texas rig with the appropriate weight to consistently get through it is the way to go. Size your rod accordingly to how heavy the milfoil is.

Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. That's what I was afraid of. I even went as far as commenting on some of the Facebook posts from BassResource to remind people.

We're Back Baby!
I felt a bit lost without the forums. Over 10 years now I've been frequenting this website daily. Glad you were able to get things back up and running for us, Glenn.

Fantasy Fishing 2026
Is this thing on? Testing.. Testing... We are back boys! I hope everyone was able to get their picks in for the past two events while BR website was down. We've got 20 days before the Pasquotank River/Albemarle Sound event.

White/shad color baits in non shad lakes?
Don't overthink it. Bass are opportunistic feeders. If it looks like prey and swims like prey, a hungry bass will try to eat it.

My buddy is genuinely trying to argue that VMC/Mustad are anywhere near the quality/sharpness of Gammy/Owner

Fantasy Fishing 2026
What a wild event. I had 1238 points on Day 1 at 2pm... And I finished the event with 906. Congrats to Jacob Foutz for his first Elite victory! This was a fun one to watch. It was a shame what happened to Randy Howell on the final day. We have 16 days before the boys head to South Carolina for the Lake Murray event. Should be a good post spawn bite for them.
