  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lews-Tournament-MG-7-1-1-Casting-Reel-LTS1SHMG-/351307663817?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51cb9189c9 $89.99 on ebay all day long with no tax.
  2. I have 4 of the older victory reels and love them. I was excited about the carbon reels until I saw the carbon frame. That will hurt the sales a bunch.
  3. I have both and the premeir is better for light lures but the stx is better for heavier lures or more wind. Don't let the price fool you. Most of the price difference is the fact that the premier has a carbon fiber handle. I set the mechanical brake on the stx with 3 pins on and never touch it. I use the magnetic dial so basically they are the same effort to adjust using the dial.
  4. Total miss aimed at complete suckers. They were drinking heavily when they came up with it. 1. A reel designed for huge baits that has a 7:1 high speed ratio????? (the winch is about 5.4:1) 2. $150 more than a winch for the exact same parts and build???? 3. 8 ball bearings which leaves 2 out of the handle knobs which are under huge amounts of stress??? Go ahead and buy one. In 6 months, they'll be selling for $150 on ebay. Oh, and I own nothing but Abu reels but at least I'm not a sucker.
  5. Price. I can take any reel and spend a few hours going through it and smoke any reel on the market. It sounds conceded to say that, but even shimano's are slapped together by a Korean lady making $8.00 a day to build them. Too many people here think shimanos are built by God. They ain't.
  6. 10 rods cover everything and I usally start with about 6 or 7 rigged up. Any more than that and you are just wasting time in the morning getting ready to fish. Any less than that and you are just wasting time during the day re-tying lures. Someone said 26! At 2 minutes per rod to get rigged up and you just wasted an hour!!!
  7. Why? Nothing better to do with your time than starting internet bashing threads?
  8. Worth the price but you are comparing a magnetic brake to a centri brake. Two totally different feels. Both have their strengths.
  9. The line has to come off just as it went on so I would guess a lot of side to side movement would kill casting distance. A straight spooled line would come off linear and smoother. So now in order to get the same distance, you have to cast even harder wich will bring more problems. Just a thought.
  10. Why not? I have noticed that most people that don't like them don't like Skeet Reese and have never used one. If you watch 2013 Bass elites, there was at least two other pros with a couple of Skeet Reese rods on their deck. Would W&M make fake rods for pros that they don't even sponsor?
  11. The rod that you listed is not the micro honeycomb, it is an s-curve. I love mine and have never had any problems out of them.
  12. I have the Abu Elite 8. It does have the clicking drag but also if you look more closely, you see that it has a longer carbon fiber handle than the Premier. It also has the six brake arms and some red highlights. For the most part (at least on Revos) the JDM reels are built for finesse fishing. My only gripe is that it cost $80 more than the Premeir and all you really get is two more breaking arms (maybe a $10 upgrade). The MGX is cheaper and has a magnesium frame, so I don't think it is worth the money at all. I only paid $220 for a new sealed reel so I am very happy. I just wish that I had bought two of them for that price.
  13. Hi. I have 3 of these reels and the brakes take a pretty solid click to engage them so you can check them when you buy it as said above.
