  1. Try this link. ftp://software.lowrance.com/LCX/LCX-15MT_360_new/ You may need to copy and paste it into your browser. Edd
  2. I bought the portable one because I thought I only needed the bait sound. I have seen fish closer to the boat than before, but, I mounted it permantly because I use it trolling and didn't want it banging around. With the speaker in the water some 3 feet below me, I can't hear how loud it is. I would buy the next model up if someone was willing to buy the portable one I have for $75. At the dock, in a slip, it sure raises the interest of other fish. Edd
  3. Maybe I can help with a couple of screen shots. Above are two Kings we caught off of a stump in the Sacramento River. Below is a seal in theSac. Both of these are using Lowrance SonarHub with 83/200 kHz HDI transducer. True, these are not from an Elite but very similar results are possible. Edd
  4. Here is the latest and greatest from Lowrance for both the Gen-2 Touch and the Gen-3. New user interface for the Gen-2T! http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Software-Updates/Gen2-Touch-User-Interface-Update/ http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Software-Updates/HDS-Gen3-Version-15/ Edd
  5. Using the 50 kHz frequency will show you more bottom on your screen, however, your target separation deteriorates. Remember the lower the freq the deeper it will work, and the higher the freq the better target separation. Edd
  6. I use Insight Genesis, the Navico product. It is very user friendly and quick to process from upload to your merge and finished map. If you don't feel like, or have the time to log your own surveys, you can visit the Social Maps area on the Insight Genesis site and go through that list of bodies of water, which, is ever growing. You can use the 'bottom hardness' and 'vegetation' layers to help find the fishy spots. One of the most important features to me, is the ability to review my uploaded tracks (recordings), and when I find hazzards, holes or humps and even trees, I can add waypoints, save them and download them to an SD card then load those waypoints to my head units. Here is a combined screen shot of Shaver Lake in Fresno County. The top portion is with an 'off the shelf' mapping card and the lower part was done with Insight Genesis. I chose to create my map with 5' contours but you have the option of changing that. In full disclosure to the forum, I am actively on Pro-Staff with Lowrance, Scotty Fishing and Shasta Tackle, however, I will try to be unbiased where I can. Edd
