  1. I'd like to see you whoop up on some people in that boat! I bet it catches fish as well as any other boat.
  2. Solid. That's a pig
  3. Was it hard to launch at wolf being low like that?
  4. Just blew my powerhead at Table Rock. This bbq joint is music to my ears as I am right by Lampe:)
  5. KS Upholstery in Smithville. I've been looking for a while now trying to find a decent upholstery shop, I found out over the summer that my next door neighbors son runs this. He said he does most of the work for Smithville Marine.
  6. Got the seats redone for the ole'ranger. I thought it was going to be a month before I got it back the way he talked when I dropped it off, but to my surprise two days later he was done. They aren't factory skins from Ranger but I think he did a pretty good job matching. Now I just need to save up for a new side imaging depth finder:)
  7. Late fishing report. Tried Melvern in the wind on Saturday with my dad. We only caught 5, but 4 were fish over 15". The only way we could get bit was a drop shot in 16 fow near the d**n. I'm still learning that place and hoping to explore it some more next year.
  8. Well like some of you already posted, I have to also put the boat in hibernation this year. It's way early for me, but due to some changes in child care I have to start picking up the kiddo after school until the end of the year. If I had a wider garage I would keep it at my house so I could work on it over the winter. I pulled out the seat and sent it into the upholster. Now I guess it's time to chase some deer around for a while to keep me busy. I'm terrible at fishing in the winter so I will be looking forward to seeing some of your guy's upcoming report!
  9. Sorry guys, Still learning how to post pics here.
  10. Went out to Melvern yesterday and caught a good amount of fish. Caught 4 that were over 15". At the end of the day I got into a good school of whites near the melvern lake marina. I started with the ned, but switched over to a roster tail after talking with some guys that were fishing the dam and that was a lot easier than the ned considering the wind. I'm terrible at throwing the spook, but took a lot of white bass and smallmouth with it at the end of the day on a wind blown flat. All the whites were great size and a lot of fun. I'm glad I went out. http://]http://i62.tinypic.com/34odfg4.jpg
  11. Sorry to hear about your motor. I know how that feels. I blew mine up on Truman two years ago. On a side note, I'm glad fishing was good for you guys on Melvern last Saturday. I hit it up the following Sunday and learned my first Melvern lesson. Don't go when the wind is blowing 15-25mph. It did calm down for about 45 minutes towards dusk and I was able to land about 10-12 smallmouth at the dam. I may go this Saturday but the forcast is calling for 15mph winds:(
  12. Thanks Brian, I was thinking of making a trip down there. I've never fished LOZ in the fall before and have only fished gravois arm.
  13. What part of the lake were you guys fishing Brian?
  14. We made it to Melvern yesterday at 1000 and fished until 1600. Caught a whole bunch of fish again. Biggest was only 2.5lbs. My buddy has never caught any smallmouth before and he put a whoopin on me. I wanted to explore the lake but my buddy stated "Don't leave fish to find fish." So needless to say we were at the dam all day:) I did see that good looking Lund quit a bit out there. Glad to see you had an even better day than myself aavery ">http://
  15. I'll be out there tomorrow as well. Fishing from 0900-1600. I'll be in a pewter and maroon ranger. Be launching the same place as aavery.
  16. Yup that is me. I'm glad you got my good side. I didn't make it to Melvern today because my buddy and I both had after school kid duty. We did however make it out to Smithville because that's only a 10 minute drive. We caught a total of eight with only three 15" or greater. Not a great day but better than not going out at all. We did see a pretty cool snake fight. Looks like the copperhead lost the battle. Hopefully I'll post the pic correctly.
  17. That's awesome. It was the first time for me using the ned rig. I actually just got back from Rogers Sporting Goods and stocked up on a lot more. For me the magic number was to stay in 10-12 fow anywhere along the dam. I must have had steady action there 2 1/2 hrs or so. Great trip for my first time at Melvern.
  18. Yes that was me. It looks like your bite really turned on for you towards dusk. It sure sounded like you guys were having a lot of fun. It's always good when your kid is with ya and your on the fish! I caught a lot fish but didn't get the quality you did. Nice looking rig you got there. I'm headed back out there tomorrow and Thursday. Hopefully the bite is still on.
  19. Hey Chris, was that you in the black lowe at the dam Saturday evening?
  20. I just read previous post on what the ned rig is and googled it. It is definitely worth it to get you fish out there.
  21. Well took a solo trip for my first trip to Melvern. Holy zebra mussels!!! I've been wanting to try this lake for awhile to help me out with my smallmouth urge. After reading all your posts I decided to hit it up even without a partner. I tried a few cranks and lipless cranks without any luck so I decided to try this "ned" thing I've been reading about. I caught 2 smallmouth on my first two casts! After that its all I used. I caught easily 30 fish within 3 1/2 hours of fishing. No size to brag about, but I did manage to come back with a mean bass thumb. I thought I would be buring gas to explore the lake but just stayed at the dam. Needless to say I will probably go out solo again on Tues and for sure I will be headed back out there Thurs with a buddy. Just wanted to say thanks for you guys posting some of past reports. I would have posted my pics but they were all dinks. Also I'm going to check my line a lot more next time:)
