Happy holidays, everyone! I'm just getting back into freshwater fishing after 30 years of frequent moves, deployments, etc. I saw a video clip in which he used some kind of vise setup to stablize his lures while he changed out the treble hooks and adjusted the bill on a pretty good sized bait. I can't seem to find anything on the market except fly-tying vises. Am I wasting time looking for a vise product made for working lures? Any suggestions from you experienced folks?

Hi A-Jay. And thank you for your service too. Coast Guard helped me out big time on a couple of occasions. Thanks too for the good advice. I did invest in a mid-priced rod and a Lew BB1 - certainly not my father's bait casting reel! My name is Rob, and I'm just getting back into fishing after a Marine Corps career kept me moving for thirty years. I'm amazed at the changes in rod, reel, line and bait technologies since I was growing up in Florida and fishing every chance I got - fresh or salt. Realizing now that I'm a complete beginner, but getting a lot of help from the many online sites and YouTube videos on knots, rigs, and techniques. Any advice on good lakes for bass this time of year, or thought on how to get started fishing for the elusive Muskie?
