  1. I have the stainless upgrade pair and love them. Texas tackle got this right.
  2. My first thought was the roller bearing as well!
  3. The best deal is to trade for what you want. Be mindful of all the new and fun gun laws in your area. I just got stuck with I-594
  4. Use it in the same conditions you would run strait braid
  5. I use 65 and frog as one of my primary methods. I have used 50 as well. I can bomb a spro frog on 65 further than I care to fish it. In heavy cover I cannot see as far as I cast. It works for me.
  6. I like a brown frog. Of the ones I have and use it works coast to coast
  7. I use keitech baits and I never seem to have any issus strait out of the pack.
  8. Trick out your reels and do a deep cleaning. New bearings and upgraded drags cheap overall gets your gear ready for the new season and scratches the itch for a bit
  9. Yes 4lb Berkeley xl casts much better
  10. Nope you seem to have those to.
  11. Did you loose all your gear? Seems like a lot of new stuff. I scanned the list but did not see any hard jerk baits to start the season off with?
  12. I fish my lec70mhf with 15 lb p-line 100%. 1/4 and 3/8 most often
  13. 4 or 6 LB sunline Sniper depending on reel size. 1500 size reel or smaller go with the 4.

I like watermelon colors for clear lakes, red working very well in the evening and gold working well during the day for me. I also have blueblack for off colored waters. I vary the size if i do not get bit.
  15. I hope you at least wear painters pants so you have a lot of pockets!!!!
  16. They get stuck in trees just as good as any other from what i have found. Frogs are the exception to this rule!
  17. I use a bag when i am in my yak and when i ride in anothers boat. I use my back pack when shore fishing or even wadeing in a stream. I do not have a fishing dedicated back pack but a regluar one works just fine for me. I dont bring a net so that is a situation i have not come threw yet!
  18. USN 1996-present Submarine qualified since 1997!
  19. I would love a full size pic of that tree! I would use it as ammo to convince the wife to let me help decorate the tree!!
  20. These grips are great for yakers as stated previously. The only time i use them is when trebble fishing as i dont own a net. I fish a jig or single hook far more often and it keeps the amount of gear storage down. I lived on the east cost for a while and i used them mostly for pickeral and pike. They are a great tool and worth the price IMO.
  21. For the most consistent action the hollow body frog has been the best to me. I love the spro popping frogs the best. I have a r2s spitting wa but have almost no time on the water with it to give it a rating. Frogs are so versatile and changing the color can change what your trying to mimic. White black and brown will cover most situations but once you start it will be hard to stop. I do not fish these in the winter and i have put them away for the season, but they will produce some of the most heart thumping strikes in all of fishing as the bass or pike explode out of the water on the take. Sammy's are cool but i like the DUO pencil the best of the rover type baits. Walkers like the r2s bubble walker are great. I dont use poppers but a lot of people love them.
  22. Connecticut is great water and i have fished almost half the state on the east side. The rivers are good for SMB and LMB and the lakes were decent. I was reborn a fisherman i this state so i may be a little jaded. I now live in washington state next to the puget sound and its very rough. This is the hardest place to figure them out and i have never found a pattern here yet. NY was much easier for me!
  23. http://www.lowpriceguns.com/product.php_284496 This is the model of 45-70 that i am used to and can speak to. The longer barrel is sweet and it will not have rust issues. I prefer stainless guns as most of the areas i live in have high humidity and or are on the coast. There are a lot of loads that work well in this gun and the recoil is not as bad with the very nice pad on the back. Note: the lever revolution round put out by hornady are brutal and i like hand loads most for this gun. Marlin 1895 XLR Lever Action Rifle - 45-70 Government - 24" Barrel - Stainless Finish - Black / Grey Laminate Stock - 7.5 lbs - 4+1 Round - 1895XLR
