  1. Bass were stacked up in the shallows 2-4' today with the high temperatures. Most were very skittish but I did manage to hook two on the livetarget sunfish and a pad crasher. Mainlake temps were 56 with the water back in the canals as warm as 65. Cold front on Tuesday could shake things up.
  2. Shimano Stella + St. Croix LTB when I was clueless about fishing (before BR)
  3. No need to worry about instant and hard hook sets anyways- they usually hook themselves and only need a sweep-set to stay pinned.
  4. KeepinItReelFishing... it's all in the name.
  5. Clarkston area here. I fish all the lakes around. Have you ever gotten over to Lakeville Lake?
  6. Your jigs are not excellant... but excellent. (arky, dock rocker, grid iron descriptions)
  7. hardbaits on tw will have terminal tackle attached 99% of the time... unless it says otherwise
  8. What Hawgtech handles should I get? 90mm, 94mm, or 102mm? Revo SX (frogging/pitching) Revo S (skipping/jerkbaits) Revo S (squarebills/lipless) I was planning on getting the Winn grips for the jerkbait reel and maybe for the SX but I read you want flatter knobs for pulling bass out of cover.
  9. I've seen some rods that only have braid ratings. I know the Daiwa Tatula frog rod is one.
  10. Where can I find the bolt retainer that goes under the bolt on the handle and then is secured by the smaller screw? Abu has the type that seems to go over the bolt in their breakdown (#74). http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/purefishing/Abu%20Garcia/Schematics/REVO%20SX-HS-L%20%2017%2001.pdf
  11. I believe that is a result of GoPro style wide-angle cameras
  12. Without shad though... bluegill or perch?
  13. Any idea what this mass could be? Garmin Echo 201
  14. That makes sense. I have a rod with the same specifications as the Powell that I could try out too for a faster tip.
  15. Wow I am pretty surprised to hear that. My heaviest rod is a MH Veritas Winch 1/2-1 3/8 and a KVD 8.0 (1.5oz) seemed to be pushing it. You think I can get away with a 2.5oz rat?
  16. Looks like some new, smaller Spro rats will be coming out this year at ICast. Definitely has me interested in a size I can throw on non-swimbait class rods. More info: http://thebbz.com/content/2015/5/15/warning-spro-bbz-1-rats-sighting
  17. I have weighed it and it's 1.5 oz. I throw it on a 7'6 Veritas Winch MH rod with #14 mono but I can see a flipping stick style rod working well to drive 1/0 trebles.
  18. Thought this looked pretty cool with the USB charger and all. I was wondering if it could be used as a battery for my garmin echo 201 and maybe iphone, as it does look pretty small. It is rated at 12v for 2.4 amp hours. I know little about electric power drainage... but a iphone is said to draw 1.2A and the garmin manual says it has a "rated current" of 1A 10-28v and 3A fuse... not sure if that helps. Would this battery last? ICAST ad:
  19. What have your experiences been like with a marl bottom and jigs or other traditionally bottom-contact lures like crankbaits?
  20. I have heard a lot about "bass will strike at something they think is food, even if they have never seen it before" To what extent is this true in northern, smaller, inland lakes? If generations of bass for thousands of years have been seeing sunfish and dark crawfish as forage... will they still find a white pattern attractive? Especially in clear water where natural colors seem key. Am I disadvantaged with just using bluegill and crawfish patterns?
  21. Awesome, appreciate the help man.
  22. Do the defined point in the upper middle of the lake, or the steep drop off the east shore have any significance? Maybe after the spawn?
  23. I want to know what you guys thought about this lake, talking about possible locations or more specifically, pre-spawn. The main species in this lake are bluegill, crappie, northern pike, perch, and largemouth and (few) smallmouth bass. No rocks, no wood. Satellite Topographical I know these are tough to call without actually being there, but I want to hear your thoughts! Bald Eagle Lake is a natural lake located in Oakland County, Michigan. Lake Area: 149 acres Island: 24 acres Lake Surface: 125 acres Max. Depth: 26 feet Mean Depth: 7.3 feet
