  1. Without a doubt, the topwater frog is my favorite lure to throw. as we all know, frogs are known for missing fish and i have come to just deal with it. i make as many modifications as possible to enable better hook-ups and i have come to realize the biggest factor in snagging bass on the frog. a high speed reel. i have been using a 6:2:1 gear ratio and it was very slow at picking up the slack line and it makes it very hard to get a good hook set in the fish. I like a 6:6:1 or 7:1 the best for my topwater reel. Also, on a general note, patience is very important. I was out earlier today throwing the frog and missed a bass three times in a row and finally on the fourth cast i kept it buttoned. patience and persistence is key when going after bass with a frog. if they make it clear that they are in that area, keep casting there. eventually they will get fed up and swallow it.
  2. What I was using wasn't a buzz toad that u reel and the legs kick. it was a hollow body frog with legs instead of skirted legs
  3. Not sure if I am using the proper terms but My two favorite frogs are the *** Lunker Leopard Frog and the KVD Sexy frog. I throw the legged frogs over lilly pads and heavy cover and the stringed legged frog over everything else. Is that the correct thing to do? Or does it not really matter? How do you decide which one to throw?
  4. I live in florida and have heard the same thing about birds carrying eggs from one body of water to the next
  5. I dream about hooking huge catfish a lot. not sure why because I bass fish most of the time but its still pretty cool
  6. Right now I have now cranking rig set up with some seagar fluorocarbon. but I have heard numerous times that mono is better than fluoro and braid for swimbaits and crankbaits because the stretch is "more forgiving" and that the "no stretch" lines will rip the hook out of the fish's mouth. Is this true? If so I'll need to respool
  7. It seems that I always get my best bites while my hat/visor is on backwards.I almost always wear it backwards now and it seems to help lol.
  8. World Fishing Network My favorite show is the Scott Martin Challenge
  9. Come down to central florida. Fishings good all year round. Lake tarpon is great
  10. pond. I enjoy fishing and hunting so having it all right there would be great. ive caught my biggest bass while bank fishing in ponds
  11. BUZZBAIT I just recently got into using buzzbaits but now I always have it rigged up. My favorite is the Buzz Plug made by Arbogast.in Frog White belly or Perch. It represents a frog or bait fish perfectly while still displacing water.
  12. three. Florida south Carolina and Indiana. but outside of florida I like to catfish. I'm obsessed
