  1. I could be wrong but I believe it's saying that the inlet charger is only rated at 15 amps so if ur using something that produces 30 it will heat up and possibly burn. Just like using an indoor extension cord for heavy duty power tools.
  2. I agree with u Jakob this is a very helpful thread. Thanks for all the input guys!
  3. I don't fish tournaments so I don't have anything about that, however if I plan on going fishing and plan on going alone ( if buddy goes or not) and I ask a buddy to go for some company I expect to float the bill if he offers a little gas money sure I'll accept but on the flip side if a buddy asks me to take him fishing yes I expect half of gas or he fills up the boat and I fill up the truck or vice versa. Just my opinion
  4. Slonezp I didn't even think of carrying a lighter and tp in a bag. That's definitely going in the boat thanks guys! I launch and recover alone most of the time as the wife don't know how to back a trailer or drive a boat
  5. now that hunting season is over im really wanting to start fishing a lot more. however I have reservations about launching and being on my boat alone, I bank fish alone at times but a lot more can go wrong while on a boat. I always tell someone where I will be going and if alone stay relative close to home. do any of yall go out on your boat alone? what all safety things do yall do? or do yall always have someone with you? thanks in advance!
  6. Sweet guys! I might just pick it up. Can never have to many rods
  7. I have the chance to pick up a shimano clarus crankbait rod at a decent price. Just curious if anyone has used this rod if it's any good. It's a 7' medium with a medium fast tip. Thanks in advance
  8. Could y'all give me some examples? I understand based on water, depth, temp ect but I read that winter to slow down and others say use moving baits. I'm so confused. I can handle not getting bites using a good choice but can't stand to use something that should never be tied on in that situation.
  9. I'm still new to all this and great info I really appreciate the help!

When y'all first get to the water how do u decide what lure to use first? I just go with what is already tied on or guess, however I want to make my guesses educated and reason behind them. Any tips that y'all use?
  11. Oh haha yeah idk anybody to get access to those lakes, I usually have to go to reedbingham or paradise pfa
  12. FSUFish where do u usually fish around valdosta?
  13. This maybe a dumb question but I'm still learning so work with me haha... What is a jerkbait? I googled it and got on bass pro but they look like crankbaits to me. How do I tell the differance?
  14. Well I finally pulled the trigger and bought a new depth finder. I'm very excited to get it mounted up and take it out on the water and get familiar with it. With that being said I've never installed a transducer and don't really like the idea of just drilling holes in my boat lol. I've done some research but can't find much, can I just use the holes from my current mount? Any type of special sealant i need to use? Any information is a huge help! Thanks in advance
  15. I have one and love it. They have this mount called the sportsman mount I have u can mount it to ur rod itself it's pretty neat I can also mount it to my bow and rifle for hunting. It's just not really good for distance as they don't have a zoom it's more for first person recording views IMO
  16. Approx how much would I need? 6'x20' roll? My boat is 17' long
  17. I was more looking for website or something similar so I could actually see what it would look like but I'll definitely take suggestions! Here is my boat... I was thinking dark grey like suggested I just dunno how it will look.
  18. I need to redo the carpet in my boat but I don't want the same color that's in there now, however I have horrible vision and don't know what would look good. Is there any websites or anything to help with this? I am not computer worthy at all so I'm at a loss for that. All help is appreciated!
  19. Thanks Sam! That's one thing I am not good at is finding the bass.... Where I was fishing is a place in lake park ga just minutes from the Florida line. I would guess it's about 130 acre pond. It was about 67 degrees with cloud cover and water temp was 59 deg. I tried finding some structure or drop off on the bottom but my fish finder just showed a straight solid line over almost the whole thing. It's deepest part is around 10' with average about 4-6' there is lily pads in the back cove and few docks. I couldn't locate anything in the deep areas so started on the pads with a top water frog. Then moved to a rage rigged bug and trick worm. Then tried 3-5' crank bait and rattle trap (on a micro magic and bass pro qualifier with 6.4:1 reel. If it helps) along the docks and bank. I finished by throwing a Texas rig and a shaky head with a trick worm. I didn't throw a jig or jerk bait I do t have them or never fished with them. I appreciate all the help if anymore information is needed please let me know
  20. Hey guys new to the site from Valdosta in South Georgia! I've been fishing my whole life but mostly for anything that bites just started getting into bass fishing this last summer. It's fun and very frustrating at the same time!
  21. Wow thanks for the quick and helpful replies. Yeah it was kind of cloudy and I live in very south GA basically right at the Florida line. Where I was fishing ain't really a lake it's a big pond can't even operate boat over idle. It has couple docks I hit pretty good and few Lilly pad areas but other than that no areas besides few points from the banks.

Hey I'm new to bass resource and have already learned a ton! I've been bass fishing for a bit but now getting serious! I went out on the small lake close by the house today and not a single fish! Great conditions water temp was 59 degrees and I seen bait fish activity and fish activity, I threw everything from rattle traps, crank baits to a trick worm and everything in between but nothing! I don't have the best depth finder so I couldn't locate structure, or really know how to read one ( new one in the works) but any advice for a rookie looking to get better! Thanks for all the help in advance!
