Curado worm gear issue
Cleaned my curado the other day and had a weird issue that you may have had, when I clipped the c clip on over the little brass shim on the opposite side of the handle frame the brass shim was a tiny bit off from center, made the entire reel turn into crap, after 5 minutes of playing with it I figured it out and used tweezers to pop it back and align correctly and the reel became smooth again. I’m not gonna say it made the reel seize up because I could still reel it like normal it just wasn’t smooth and really could have stumped someone who rushed the reel back together. Luckily I spun the handle after every new part I put together and immediately caught it before continuing.

Shimano Vanford question/issue
Hey guys, not sure if this is the official vanford thread but I do have a question regarding bearings. I want to upgrade the plastic and brass bushings in this reel however I can’t get a strait answer about this 4x8x2.5 bearing that needs to go where a brass insert currently is, is this the correct size or is it possibly different like speculated? And is there anymore bearings I’m missing from this screen shot, it seems as if I need 5 or 6 total bearings.. I would like to replace all bushings even the tuff to get ones. Sizes and the amount of necessary bearing would be very appreciated. Thank you! (Unfortunately file was to big) seems to be 2 bearings of size 3x6x2.5 another 2 4x8x2.5 and 1 or 2 7x11x3.0 and then some shims size 4x6x0.01 anyone care to elaborate, thanks very much.

Does Tatsu hold up longer than other lines?
I don’t doubt plenty of people have gotten real tatsu from amazon however this just left a bad taste in my mouth seeing as it was from amazon themself and thankfully I do have prime and was able to return it! Still doesn’t change the fact that in my opinion I can’t trust it and even my response was flagged and deleted when I was simply trying to post on the reviews what I received was fake and the pictures for proof were there in that post. Here’s what I received! Unfortunately the file is over the excepted 1.46 mb. If there’s a way to post a photo let me know. It was a pretty sad fake.

Does Tatsu hold up longer than other lines?
Sorry to just jump in on here, do your best to refrain the deals on amazon/EBay and those sites that sell tatsu at a ‘bargain’ half the time you will get fake tatsu. A few months ago I decided to try and buy some tatsu off amazon threw the actual amazon as the seller, it came in a bag not a box, with mono. This seller had 700+ sales of the line and not a single bad report (that I could find in his comments) it was a clear scam, people that sent in pictures looked like it was the same as the stuff I got and more then likely bought by people who didn’t know it was suppose to be precision wound. My spool came loosely wound it was an obvious fake or maybe something someone returned. Tour best bet is to spend the extra 10 dollars and get the reel stuff from bass pro, it cost me more in the long run to return it to a ups store and wait for my money I probably still haven’t received back. Another one I bought a 1000 yard spool off some outdoor camp world at a decent price, it’s been 5 months and haven’t received it, I was charged. These guys didn’t even try to send me a fake spool, they just took my 40$ and I’ve called them and left 5 voicemails on there number that puts them in Southern California less then 40 miles from me. Tatsu is a scammers dream, while me and you may know what fakes look like the majority of amazon buyers are just trying to get the best fishing line and don’t know what it looks like.

I'm surprised to hear that as those plastic pieces didn't last long. I'm going to get the reel fixed regardless but I may get a spare spool that's set up. I may even look to find one that has those plastic pieces upgraded to something stronger. In the long run I think I'm going to consider a different product alltogether. It sucks to say that but spending $300 on a reel that's broken after a few days of use is not what i imagined. At the least it should of lasted longer then my cheap reels. I have no idea how those plastic pieces could have grenades like they did, the inside of the spool is clean and the side didn't come loose like the tackletour issue had with the mgx. They just somehow broke. At first I thought msybe the sudden stop from a backlash may of broke them but realistically that backlash I had was from those pieces breaking because I never had any backlashes with the reel. A part of me still wants to get that mgxtreme but my brain says don't do it.

Not sure what u mean by trial but I went to look at abus schematics and they don't even have the right premier. Only the left hands and the old ones. Which is not cool. Basically there's 4 plastic pieces on the spool that broke off. If I could post a picture I would but I can't do that on this sight I guess.- Medium or Medium-Heavy?
If your looking for a cheap rod I can get the vigilante rid at Wal-Mart for 40$ with a two year warranty n I've used senkos to lipless cranks to pull in 8 pounders without a problem. However they don't compare to my specific rods. But get the job done when I'm on the road and don't want to break my Loomis rods when I'm at races n ppl r setting up tents n bikes.- revo premier
How do i check for compatibility between spools?- revo premier
Hey guys I just wanted to see if I could get a little help with my revo premier. I just recently got this reel 3 weeks ago and got to use it last week in Georgia while in the road. Have to say this reel brought in a few really nice pond fish that put up some of the best fighting I've ever gotten from a bass and this reel performed fantastically. I really like that I never have to worry about a backlash when casting against the wind and can still get really far distance, however I did have a big issue where on a cast the reel out of no where backlashed and broke every plastic piece on the spool breaks (4 break arms?). I've contacted abu and they want me to send the reel in which I'm going to do because the reel Is new and they will fix the reel properly but for the future I would like to get some of these plastic pieces to have incase this happens again. But I cannot find these parts anywhere and don't know if u must buy a complete spool or not. In the case of buying a complete spool is there a lighter spool i should look into? The reel cast very controlled but not far and that's probably because it's new and not broken in but I have seen lightweight spools for other reels and I'm considering a back up incase I need it but not sure if these come set up with the plastic pieces. Any help would be great.- Revo Premier, Need Some Help...
Ya man that was a long time ago, anyways I got it on eBay a few months ago but it was still sealed and brand new. Would I still be able to contact them about it? I really havnt used it much at all cause I don't want it causing problems using it when it's out of whack like it is.- Revo Premier, Need Some Help...
Ya I'm going to be racing a few nationals this summer, I also did a Loretta qualifier this past weekend for open pro n +25. Anyways what did u mean by exchange?- Revo Premier, Need Some Help...
Hey guys, I just bought a revo premier SPINNING reel and I've got about 3-4 days on it and it's been kinda rough reeling it in the whole time. What's weird is it will be rough about 80% of the time, it's almost like it will be rough then for 10 casts it will be super smooth and a dream then I cast it and it's back to rough. I know it's not a bearing, I couldn't imagine it being a gear since it's done it since day 1, it's just got a roughness or what others say as a thump. It's not grinding it just seems like the same thing as when a tire is out of whack. What could be the problem? I was really exited about this reel till I got it and have had this happen, I have had nothing but good things to say about all my Abu products but as of now my 40 dollar hank Parker Abu is better then this reel. How do I go about getting her right? Thanks.- Best Rods For These Style Baits.
That's pretty good for me. I think where I got u confused was I was informing you of the rods I have, mostly kvd rods casting (red tour kvd rods) I was just throwing that in there incase there good enough for the application and can spare that style rod. As of now I'm only going to get 2 rods 1 for each the spinning and baitcaster so I belive those kvd rods I have will be more then enough to cover my crank bait and I can focus on two rods for lighter soft plastics and the other for the medium to heavier jigs and those will be duckett because my vendettas seem to be a little fragile. I do also have the wright n mcgill spinner bait rod jig rod and the spinning rod for shaky head senko but like I've said in looking for a quality rod and I belive duckett would fit that well at the price.- Best Rods For These Style Baits.
ok that sounds pretty good. I'm gonna get 2 rods from duckett to start out with, one for my spinning stuff and one for the baitcaster.- Best Rods For These Style Baits.
Let me ask you this, have you been to Walmart and seen any of there rods? Kvd has a few red tour rods one is that long one for baitcaster I have that one and also the 6'6 for baitcasters, would that be good enough for my cranks? I also have the spinning that's I think 7'4 extra fast tip... Then I have the vendetta rods light/medium/ heavy in spinning and the baitcaster rod in medium heavy. Would those rods all fit the application close to what a duckett performs at?- Best Rods For These Style Baits.
Hey guys, first post here and was looking for some advice on two rods for each my spinning reels (revo premier 20-30) and my baitcasting reels (revo sx/pro max) I really would like to get duckett rods cause they are 100$ on eBay and fit my price range. If anyone has any info that could help steer me in the right direction below is specifically the baits I'll use in the catagory. Thank you. I plan on using senkos/roboworm/trick worms some soft plastic crass Texas rigged on one rod, and will be using the smaller Xcalibur xcs100 and xrk25-50 still shad jr those will be the two different style baits for the spinning rods I need. For baitcasting rods (don't use my baitcasters often) I need a rod for similar soft plastics but I will up the size since the smaller stuff will only go on my spinning set ups so bigger worms and then jigs half ounce up to maybe a little heavier... Then crankbaits that are a little heavier then what I can use in spin set up. Spro bbz 4 inch I even have some 6inch bbz and a Huddleston 8 inch and if it's possible for something that's universal I have a handful of spinner baits. I also have a lot of top water stuff, spooks and koppers LT frog bigger size and the medium size. Not sure what rod to be look at. Obviously there's a plethora of rods out there so that's why I wanna stick to the duckett, of course even this one brand has a lot of different stuff to offer and has me completely lost in sizes and powers/actions. I'm not picky I just want to have 4-5 rods that fit each catagory so I'm not trying to use a heavy fast action rod for everything when it won't work. I don't like really short length rods. If that helps any just post what u think or what u use. - revo premier
