  1. I you do not mind Lews you can get the Super Duty in 8:1:1
  2. Im not looking at custom sorry if the post is misleading. ALX rods uses them. Their rods look good but I had never heard of their blanks and wanted to get some feedback about them before I purchased one of their rods.
  3. Anyone used them? If so how do you like them? Are they sensitive? Whats the difference between the OS and NG series? Can you compare them to St. Croix blanks (Only blanks I am familiar with) are they on par with SCIII or more like SCII maybe SCVI Thanks, Brady Leatherwood
  4. I fish lakes where a shakey-head always catches fish so I am looking for a super sensitive rod to throw them on. I mainly use 3/16 ounce but will sometimes use 1/4 ounce. Looking for the most sensitive rod for under $200 I looking at St. Croix Avid X, Phenix M1 or Bass Recon, Loomis E6X or any recommendation you guys can give. Thanks, Brady Leatherwood PS: Hopefully some people will not hijack my thread arguing because of what their rod preferences are.
  5. Thats an insane deal. Lews is a great company that makes great gear at a great price.
  6. I know right!! It gets dangerous out there.
  7. Im hooked on it. I think it is one of the realest fishing shows out there. My favorite is the Hard Merchandise. Do any of you guys like it.
  8. Thanks Felixone. I will be sure to let you know how I do. Please let me know how you do on Wateree.
  9. I went to Marion Saturday and I did pretty awful it rained pretty much the whole time. My partner and I fished above the I-95 bridge in creeks that went way back into the swamp. The main lake was so dirty it looked orange. That morning the shad spawn was on and bass were blowing up everywhere. I had a good one on a frog but it came off. My partner caught one on a white super fluke. They next action wasn't until later in the day. I caught a 1 pounder on a bluegill chatterbait and my partner caught maybe a 2 pounder on a black and blue lizard texas rigged up in some cyprus trees. That was it for the day. Felixone I would go to Wateree. If you decide to go to Marion a couple guys told us that the fishing was great at the lower end of the lake. Unfortunately we didnt have time to fish it. They said to fish Taw-Caw Creek and Goat Island. These are both close to John C boat launch.
  10. Ok Lake Wylie is my home lake and is nothing like Hartwell. It is usually pretty dingy and has no herring. The bass should be in post spawn. Try the mouths of creeks on the bottom end of the lake near Allison creek and Crowders creek. A jig, spinnerbait, and shakey-head should do well so should a squarebill like a 1.5 in a shad or bluegill pattern. Try a buzzbait in the morning. As a rule of thumb the lower end is clearer than the top end. Good Luck.
  11. Look at my opening post please. It is a little more specific.
  12. South Fork Anglers
  13. Thanks Felix. Maybe we will see each other.
  14. I am pre-fishing Marion this weekend for the High School state championship May 3rd. I hope it does not storm to bad down there. I will send you message about how I do. If you decide to go to Wylie shoot me a message and hopefully I can give some info about the bite.
  15. I like Lake Wylie a lot. It is very polluted and can get very dirty a times, but their are a good percentage of big fish in their. As a rule the upper end of the lake is usually dirty and the lower end clear. If you put in at the Allison Creek ramp their are some great places in that area. I would fish around the Crowders Creek area. I would stay away from the Buster Boyd boat launch unless you are in a engine powered boat.
  16. 1. I just started tournament fishing last August and I usually get skunked 40% of the time. 2. I fish all public water. 3. Its about 60% boat 40% land. 4. Lake Wylie (Its my home lake)
  17. I have a couple questions about Post Spawn bass fishing. Where do bass head after spawning? What are some key baits I should use? What time of day is best? Please tell me any other Important info!!!! Also any certain things you know about Lake Marion would help as well. Im fishing the SC High School State Championship on Lake Marion May 3rd and my partner and I will be focusing on Pre-Spawn and Post-Spawn bass since the water is usually to dirty for bed fishing. Thanks for all the help!!!
  18. Yeah look at the Lews Superduty
  19. I have both and prefer the Veritas.
  20. So at the spring classic I got a old carbonlite the black model on sale for $70. It was a 7' Heavy I used it as my jig rod. Well yesterday it broke about 3/4 the way up. So I went to BPS and they said I could trade it for any old carbonlite they had. All they had was a 7' MH Fast. Do you think its stiff enough for a jig? My line is 20lb. Pline Copoly. Would braid help? Thanks
  21. I think it would be cool to compile a list of people secret bed baits. There are some crazy things people use out there and I think the BR community would like to hear about them. Mine is a White Super Fluke on a Shaky Head whats yours? Thanks for sharing.
  22. Jackal Flick-Shake
  23. Went out to a local pond to try to catch a couple fish. Tried a wacky worm, jig, and Shaky head and didn't have any luck finally put and a jackall flickshake nose hooked weightless and caught three. Tight Lines.
